sunnyleong94
so, the engine came on, i checked its the coils and 02 señor... i changed the coils already and haven't done on 02 señor. but the problem came out before the 02 señor. anyway, the sound of the exhaust is like misfiring and popping loud when on low rev and also it pull slow compared to before. thought it was the spark plug and i replaced them all, still do nothing. what would be the problem? i got an 3' exhaust and sport cat, but i had the exhaust running for roughly about 1000 miles before and got no problem with it. -Bradders-
Sounds like a coil issue still? i had similar on an old MR2, but that had a dizzy cap which got water in it, should have seen the 6ft flames coming out the exhuast!!

-Bradders-
how do you know they are working fine if the car is coughing and spluttering?
sunnyleong94
all coils are sparking.... or is there any way to check them? two ways i used to check, is first i have engine on and unplug one by one, if it does something to the engine then it works... second way is to pull out the coils and put a spark in and turn on engine for 0.01 second lol and they all sparking good... Ekona
Because your timing will be all over the place. It'll be firing the wrong cylinder at the wrong time.
sunnyleong94
So have you changed the coils then? i have changed spark plugs recently, as soon as i changed the spark plugs, it started to backfiring.
sunnyleong94
so how can i do it in order? which one first.... and second and etc???
Ekona
This is why you always change coils and plugs one at a time You'll need a diagram of which lead goes to which plug. Or a fellow Zed to copy from.

Ebized
Always remember the same issue on one of the Wales weekends when someone with a lot of Zed experience managed to do the same on Wasso's car with those coils - egg on face time, but gave us a lot of laughs then and still does. Sure someone will have a pic of that epic occasion.
