Brandon350Z
I have had my Cobra exhaust system fitted and it's touching a metal guard in the right hand corner (looking from the back of the car) just next to one of the rubber hangers. I think it's covering the fuel tank evaporation outlet? It's a small black cylinder with a mesh top on it. My question is that do I need that guard surrounding it or can I just get rid of it? Was considering cutting a hole so the hanger can sit without touching up against it. It's an 04 350z Thanks Sent from my D6603 using Tapatalk
glrnet
Don't remember hearing that before with a Cobra. Can you post some pictures?

Brandon350Z
It's difficult to tell because I can't get a far enough away picture on the ground. I have already cut a small hole but it keeps vibrating off it! Sent from my D6603 using Tapatalk
Brandon350Z
I have checked it's seated correctly in the hangars and the exhaust is in the correct position. Before I cut the hole the metal arm was bending the guard back! Sent from my D6603 using Tapatalk
MrMartinPGrant
i know what you mean, i had this same problem on my 2005 350Z i removed the shield. had the car for 5 years and had no trouble with the shield not being there , now i'm not saying it's a good idea to remove it, it must be there for a reason, but i took mine out Edited March 10, 2016 by MrMartinPGrant

I think if in five years there have been no problems it's safe to assume it will be okay! Unless someone has had other experiences? Stutopia
This came off mine when the cobra went on. It was about to fall off anyway! Been off for a good few months now.
glrnet
I stand corrected ^ Had to grind the corner off it when my Ark went on.

That's seen better days I think I will give it another go in making the slot I cut out a bit bigger. If that doesn't work in the bin it goes. Stutopia
Shortly after that, there was a similar post where someone had shed the same piece whilst in motion.

Brandon350Z
Took the guard off and cut a bigger hole in it. A little bit of gentle persuasion with a hammer no more noises!!!! Sent from my D6603 using Tapatalk
colesl4w
Also had to remove this when fitting the Ark Grip!
