ZedJosh93
Hello Ive recently bought a blue 2007 350z that should be the hr engine right, but it only has one air intake! As far as i can find out on the internet that all 07-08 hr have twin air intakes Can anyone clear this up for me?
mouthwash
You've most likely bought a late registered up rev model. Did you get it from a dealer?
Lexx
07 was the change over year. If you have a car that was built in early 07 or a late registered one then you likely have a DE face-lift car
zebedy
bit naughty if the car was sold as a HR though and the buyer did not know what the differences are?
Ekona
Yup, you've got a late registered Revup, not a HR at all. Welcome to the land of 296 horses and 7000 revs, instead of 309 and 7500.
Payco
oops, bit of a mis sell from the dealer or private seller.
AliveBoy
On a plus side the servicing costs will be a couple of quid less as you will only need one air filter aftermarket induction kits will be lots cheaper too

nowhereboy
If it was a trade sale and advertised as an HR surely he will be able to return it? What did you pay for it, out of interest?

Ekona
One intake, definitely DE. If it was a trade sale and advertised as an HR surely he will be able to return it? If it's a private sale and it was advertised as a HR he can sue for damages.
ZEUS
Get a picture of the engine bay up.
SHEZZA
Also if it's azure blue , there's no HR's in that colour other than an odd import maybe. So sounds like a DE facelift to me. Has the bonnet got a bulge or a couple of lines on it ?
AliveBoy
Get a picture of the engine bay up. why? It's not hard to tell if it's one or two intakes, I'm sure he got it right
Ekona
It's the advert or the owner's book we need to see.
Grundy
It's the advert or the owner's book we need to see. Rather see the advert. That way you can then tell who's at fault.

Ekona
It's the advert or the owner's book we need to see. Rather see the advert. That way you can then tell who's at fault. If the book was specifically shown to the buyer before he paid for it, then it's equally as usable as evidence should the car not be a HR. Which it isn't. Just depends on when he first looked in the book... Or if the seller told him it was a HR, but knew it wasn't and wasn't daft enough to put it in an advert. Or what if the seller thought it actually was a HR, as he was the one duped on the previous sale?
davey_83
bonnet bulge or the lack of would have told all from the sales pictures regardless of description
Ekona
Not necessarily.
ZedJosh93
It has the lines not the bulge in the bonet, just gonna face it its not the hr was just too excited when i first bought it to check! The guy who bought it from factory got scammed and given the hr manual! Just had it out, limiter is at 7200. Next topic high lift cams!? nixy
People have been known to change the bonnet anyway - either way it's a great car but if a premium was paid for it being something it's not then quite rightly you'd be mad.
Ekona
Ah well, still a great car regardless, hopefully you didn't pay over the top for it.

It's not hard to tell if it's one or two intakes, I'm sure he got it right Just for clarification, it may of had some weird single intake conversion.
