david370french
After some advice, Im currently running a complete straight exhaust set up of cobra decals, motor dyne y-pipe then straight through with custom pipes and a back box delete. I'm going to put the factory back box on will this be too restrictive for when i get it mapped. if so what options have i got?
Tricky-Ricky
Anything that will dampen the noise will be a restriction to some degree, a well designed exhaust system will still provide a power increase when paired with decats, but its the decats that provide the main gains. david370french
Ok, cheers, so as long as everything else has no restrictions I should be fine with the stock back box. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Jetpilot
Are you supercharged or turbocharged?

Jetpilot
I wouldnt worry then, if your not getting the air in the front it wont make much difference. You have removed the most restrictive part of the exhaust, a silencer or two really wont see much difference to power on a na car.
Jay Kay
I though you needed some back pressure on NA and removing all boxes would therefore lose power?
Tricky-Ricky
Don't worry too much about back pressure, N/A exhaust design is more about pulse reversion, and extraction effect, so its really the first 1/3 of the system that has the most effect, that one of the reasons decats help with power, granted fitting highly restrictive back boxes will not help, but it more the design than restriction, unlike turbocharging where the biggest restriction is the turbo so everything after than benefits from as little restriction as possible. david370french
Cheers guys, I'll leave it with the standard back box then for now to keep the noise down lol. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
