nixy
as lots of you will remember there is no clock on the JDM computer pod - it is in the headunit. My new head unit unbelievably doesn't appear to have a clock. I don't often wear a watch but as it's dark at the moment when I go to and from work it wouldn't be much use anyway. Any ideas of something I can do/get to tell the time which is crucial when you're rushing to work! (zedrush, don't bother posting any silly pictures of big ben on the dashboard !!!!) H5
Where is your iPod mounted? I would set the iPod display up to show the time, and then mount it in the cubby in the dash board.
nixy
the ipod is hidden away as I don't have to touch the ipod its controlled via the head unit controls.
sl114
Can you get a HUD clock and mount it somewhere to project onto the windscreen?
nixy
I have no idea what that is, tell me more unless it's one of your uber expensive ideas!
lomoto
had a similar problem on my Jeep ..just stuck on of these in a handy place http://msgbikegear.co.uk/index.php?main ... ucts_id=
H5
the ipod is hidden away as I don't have to touch the ipod its controlled via the head unit controls. But what if you wanted to see the display, say for example, to see the time?? You could move it to the cubby. Failing that, stick one of these somewhere? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Good-Quality-Digi ... dZViewItem
nixy
there aren't any handy places in a z though! You wouldn't want that on your dashboard!
Lexx
Id go with the HUD. Yiou can get them from Argos IIRC. Its just a small digital clock that projects the time onto any surface, in this case it would be your windscreen. You been in a vette? it's the same kind of thing they use for their speedo/rev counter

nixy
That second one's not too horrendous if you could find somewhere it was mostly hidden. I don't know if you can use the ipod display while it's plugged into the headunit, it just says alpine on the front of it - I'll have a try as that might be the best solution if I had the back light switched on. Stew
Ignorant Bliss Nixy! If you can't see the time, you can't worry about it!
Stew
What about your phone? If you left it somewhere handy you could see the time????
nixy
yep that's another good idea if I have the backlight on permanent while in the car.

I've got one of these in the cubby. It sits in the cradle for my satnav, held in place with a blob of blutak on the back. I only use the satnav occasionally so it works fine. GC350z
Replace the pod dials with UK spec ones. Job done and you get the speed in MPH and dte in MPG.

After checking out the ipod and phone solutions, neither which work - I think I'll do the same. Changing the pods is a bit like taking a sledgehammer to crack a nut for me.
