Rich260
Hi guys, so I've just had my wheels refurbished and painted, I asked to keep the left over paint so I could colour code the rear strut brace. The strut brace was painted my local body shop. Once I got it home and compared it to the wheels I was surprised to see it's more or less a different colour! I know that when you paint different materials there may be a slight discrepancy in shade but I wouldn't have thought there would be this much difference? I know it was touch and go with the amount of paint for the wheels as on the first attempt they left light spots so they had to be redone. I wonder if they mixed the paint to the incorrect ratio or simply haven't applied enough? So my question is do I live with it or do I have a word with the wheel place and see if I can get them re done? It's not overly noticeable until the two parts are side by side so I'm in two minds to worry about it or not.
Ekona
The wheel cap looks a completely different colour to the wheels in the first few pics, but identical in the last. I'd suggest it is the same colour, but the difference is between the plastic and metal. Pop a wheel cap off and take it indoors to compare with the brace cover. Rich260
Yea you'r right, everything plastic is one colour and the wheels are another. Is it normal to have that much difference between materials? From the distance I took that pic it's hard to see the difference so perhaps I'm just being too picky?
