marshian
Hi, has anyone swapped out a JDM spec head unit with a UK spec Bose head unit? If so - I was wondering about security codes - and how to obtain these. Also I spoke to my local (and not so helpful) dealer and there were saying something about head units being paired to a cars ECU, so even if I got a UK spek Bose head unit from a breakers, it wouldn't work in my JDM car. However, I have scoured the US 350 service manual and can find nothing about codes or head units being mapped to the ECU - and the wiring diagrams do not show a link between the head unit and the ECU. If anyone can offer advice on this I would be grateful. Cheers
M13KYF
true it is paired with the ECU. I don't know about problems pairing UK on a JDM as everyone who has a JDM tends to put a aftermarket unit in.
Chris`I
I've heard of it being paired with the ECU, but also that people have managed a swap of Bose HU (not sure thats JDM > UK, perhps just US > US). Try a search on my350z.com
