Kayla
Thursday's the only day in the week we can't do I'm afraid Would be good to rotate the days though so everyone gets a chance to come anyway. If anyone's interested the Earls Barton car meet is the day before and we'll be there so pop down if you're close 1000+ cars are likely if the weather is good. Nate
Might be worth updating thread title/new thread for each meet, so more people are aware of the meet. Currently people will only see if they click on this thread to read it.

kbad
Hi Guys The MK stadium is a good location and if the weather gets bad we can perhaps drive down to Sainsbury's car park in central Milton keynes . Kayla what day is best for you so we can ensure we organise dates that suits Edited June 16, 2016 by kbad

SUPRAWOOKIE
Anyone interested in going to this; http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/108786-japanese-performance-show-21st-aug/page__st__40 I'm already booked in, there's only 2 spaces left.
OliverB
Car is currently at Halfords (yes I know, they were the only ones with availability) as I spotted corrosion around my catalytic converter (thanks to a clicking sound). Also getting a major service and other TLC while there. Fingers crossed she's all better by the end of the week and I can still make it!
SUPRAWOOKIE
Wow, you're brave. I hope you get your car back in good shape, i don't think i could ever trust the "professionals" at Halfords!
Apoc124
Car is currently at Halfords (yes I know, they were the only ones with availability) as I spotted corrosion around my catalytic converter (thanks to a clicking sound). Also getting a major service and other TLC while there. Fingers crossed she's all better by the end of the week and I can still make it! there is a very good garage called Unit 18 over on old wolverton road and a japanese specialist called JPS Performance over in bletchely would opt for one of those two instead of the "pros" at halfords like suprawookie said both of the garages are very knowledgeable about nissans, the guy who owns Unit 18 has a very tasty track spec 200sx hopefully they sort it for you though!
OliverB
So got the car back. Wallet is much lighter! Major service with fully synth oil was £302 so that was expected. The rest however... Problems fixed: Front discs at 23mm (26mm being the minimum allowed). I was really surprised because the brakes gave me no trouble, so had them (as gracefully as I could ask) bring them out. They were indeed properly knackered, in a way that only the dealership that sold me that car could not have missed! Pads changed too. 2x Aux drive/fan belts 'worn and cracked'. Couldn't confirm but had to take their word for it. Fuel system cleaned Oil system cleaned Problems remaining: Rear brake discs thin Suspension front control arms worn/separating Suspension corrosion 'throughout' Rear tyres haven't got much life remaining Exhaust system and shields corroded £930 for the work done. That again plus some for the remainder. Can't do that for another one month or so worryingly! So very painful.

OliverB
Yep. What gets me is that the car isn't even 10 years old. Seems like a lot of corrosion on the suspension and exhaust for its age.
Apoc124
get a second opinion from another garage instead of going by what halfords guys say, i had one garage tell me my exhaust is fine and another that it was falling apart, preferably one that will show you under that car and point bits out to you (one of the two i mentioned further up are the ones id recommend) could be surface rust and they think its bad corrosion, just take it with a pinch of salt and get someone else to take a look and get a better judgement
MLCMK
Completely agree with Apoc124, get a second opinion from one of the garages he mentions above. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
MarkSt
I presume they didn't just carry out the extra work and called you to authorise it? What exactly did they claim to do to clean the fuel and 'oil' systems? I'm lucky to have a mate who owns his own garage in Buckingham, so I know I won't ever get work 'created' for any of our cars. OliverB
They called me and gave me a list of all the issues identified, with costs and then asked which I'd like them to do. They told me how they went about flushing/cleaning the fuel and oil, but I can't for the life of me remember the details. I was hoping to go to Horsham developments, but they're over an hour away, wasn't practical sadly.
