MrG13
Hey all new member here though I have been stalking and learning from the forum the past few weeks so thanks already! Anyway I have just bought my first 350z 2006 and it has come with what i think is a Veilside V1 aftermarket body kit, well everything but the front bumper, I was driving down a dual carraigeway and a considerably gale force wind came up and there must ahve been a fault with the spoiler as it split the top side off (which I cannot find at all!) and the sent the bottom side into a bow and started slamming into the boot. Need less to say this is not a great thing, so luckily there was a near by halfords who lent a screw driver to get the last screw which was attached off but now im left with the mess below (see pics) does anyone know where I can get a replacement part or this fixed at all it would be a great help! GMballistic
It does look like a Veilside spoiler but not sure really how you'd go about fixing that especially if you're missing a part. Looks like the fixings have completely ripped out of the top part so its not going to be an easy fix unless maybe you could reattach the fixings using an epoxy filler maybe?!. Personally I'd be looking at maybe replacing the whole lot. Lots of options with spoilers as well so you could really put your own spin on what you want the Zed to look like. Personally I really like the duck tail type spoilers (as below). Try some of the traders on here (all in the Professional Traders section) for your spoiler options if you do decide to get new rather than repair. Good luck. MrG13
thanks for the info! A new spoiler could be on the cards when I purchased I thought it looked a bit thin and flimsy. Ironic thing is, I drove about 300 miles back from London to South Wales (also including visiting numerous places to show off the new car obviously!) and not an issue, one trip to Asda today and a dual carriageway later and it just tore apart! I do like the gap so not sure on duck tail but will be googling in work for pix over the next two days to see what looks good Any idea what is normally used to keep secure the spoilers down? is it all epoxy or normally just screwed down to fit? I haven't go the heart to open the back up in the rain just yet and am still in shock that it happened to be honest!

I haven't go the heart to open the back up in the rain just yet and am still in shock that it happened to be honest! It can vary. Some are secured using original mountings, some need holes drilling and some are just glued or adhesive tape fixed in place. Plenty of options from the traders on here: http://www.350z-uk.com/forum/93-professional-traders/ Or if you google it (for example): http://www.epracing.co.uk/index.php/body-kits/aero-kits/nissan/350z/711/spoilers.html Some related threads: http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/61020-with-or-without-spoiler/ http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/63754-to-nismo-spoiler-or-not-to-nismo-spoiler/ If you have a look at some of the Zeds on here in the build threads section maybe it'll give you some inspiration. The Nismo V2 spoiler is pretty popular and that'll give you the gap you like or maybe you might like a BGW as some members do. That's "Big Gay Wing" btw (not hating, that's just what they're called). MrG13
Great help and loads to start me off on thanks! will continue to look for veilside replacement aswell as it did look nice and I am assuming its jsut been there a while and not a quality issue with their product as the rest of the kit has been done well, that V2 nismo is good but seems a bit too big in comparison... food for thought eh! And maybe they love the BGW as then they don't have the rear view mirror obstructed by the wing And yeah I just going through what I believe is your supercharger build, looks amazing and I thought this car was fast now! it is definite something I will be looking into for the future! Let the savings grow again after the initial purchase first I am thinking though will ponder over choices then come back and update once it's been made....luckily lots of annual leave is about to kick in so plenty of time to tinker! MrG13
Sorry for late reply been stuck in work all day, I am thinking repair will be an easy option but issue I have is what is left of the actual wing, its only the bottom half and I have no idea where to source a replacement part for it or anyone who may be able to rebuild something that will hold all wind and not break again when under pressure. Although after seeing the V2 nismo I am beginning to think maybe just replace it as it is a lot stronger looking but will be increasing my weight slightly.... its a hard life eh! any help on where to order Veilside replacement parts or a fabricator in South Sales that's low cost? MrG13
Well just a late update, driving down the same road the other day and found the top part of the spoiler laying in a bush! Complete stroke of luck so managed to head to Redline in Cardiff and had a qoute of no more than 300 to fix and respray so its all looking perfect again! now its just figuring out some free time to get her in! happy days!
