ZEUS
Then yes it's possible but it's not just a straight swap as I found out when I did it.
Mike k-g
Was hoping ud say straight swap.. Whats difficult then? any wireing to splice into involve? MKG
ZEUS
To do it you need the facelift dials (obviously) and the white control box that sits behind it (with the ribbon on). The back of the dials have to be cut, it's the lugs if I remember correctly so are useless for anything else afterwards. The back of the gear surround plastics have to be cut as well and a bracket made to mount the new dials to. It's been a year or so since I did mine so I might of forgotten something. ZEUS
No worries, if you don't get the facelift control box as well then the heater goes crazy. Full heat and full blast!
techinstaller
why not swap the entire face lift center console and gear surround complete with heater unit and controls, cubby etc ,updates the look and moves the hazard switch to a better location

The bigger problem is that won't work If you switch to the late model gear surround it won't mate up to the top waterfall portion of the console, and they won't mate up to the side panels either...you have to switch all or nothing when it comes to the large center console pieces.
