Exec
So today I booked my first service for the Zed, since the book has 7 out of 9 Franchise stamps I feel obliged to continue. £256 for a minor service at Nissan - I asked what was involved - an oil and filter change. What some of us will pay for a stamp in the book!

Also best to supply your own oil and filter and slip them £50.00 for the labour and the stamp. Edited January 16, 2016 by ZMANALEX
Ricey
Or just avoid Nissan all together on the basis that it adds practically zero value to your car and they are in the main total morons. Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
H1979
That's bonkers for an oil and filter change even for a main dealer. Sure I only used to pay about 120 for the same thing from the vw stealers on my passat. Where you based? Sure there must be some good indy's your way. Assume your car's 9 years old? If so stamps make no difference, well looked after is what matters so any service stamp will do.
Craigy_87
That does seem quite excessive, booked a service today with infiniti an doubt it'll be much more than £120. Just a P1 service mind but had a P2 done there before an had excellent service from the guys
davey_83
an indy garage would charge about £120 for a P1 service.
ZMANALEX
an indy garage would charge about £120 for a P1 service. So should Nissan or Infiniti. But totally agree that a good Indy would be best, however the OP in his first post preferred a Nissan dealership.
Exec
I may call them back and negotiate - il supply the oil etc. I wouldnt mind if it was a p3 but its just a minor. Im based North West.
Craigy_87
Yeah I only go with the infiniti dealer as there service has always been great any time I've went. Decided to go for the qx50 as the courtesy car this time lol

jjdugen
Lockwood and Greenwood. Ashton-U-Lyne. Oil and filter and backbox flange welded, £140. V highly recommended.
RyanT
My local Nissan charge £150 for a regular car (oil and filter) with free breakdown cover for a year. A 350Z? £300, becuase it requires 'master techs' to carry it out. Edited January 16, 2016 by RyanT
Juggalo
I wouldn't supply my own oil. I used to see people come in to the garages I worked in and supply their own. That oil goes in the mechanics car, and you get what's in the 50 gallon drum
AMT
Minor services at Infiniti Glasgow £99+VAT and 199+VAT for the majors (yes there all noted in the P1 2 3 stuff but effectively you have major/minor in terms of the cost lol). Mind you I replaced the sparks on my 'major' service the other month and it was £426 all in, still pretty good. Not sure what a P3 and sparks would cost at a Nissan dealer... a vile amount no doubt Edited January 17, 2016 by AMT
HEADPHONES
+1 on Lockwood and greenwood. They were recommended to me by other forum members. They've been servicing my zed for the last 7 years. Loads if NW members use them and I reckon they see more Zeds than the local Nissan main dealers. A Micra courtesy car is available. If you don't mind them driving your zed they will even do a pick up and delivery service to you if you are local. They will give forum discount and don't mind you supplying your own parts. Many moons ago they were a Nissan garage but found staying in the franchise non viable. However........they still have their original Nissan service stamp! SO YOUR SERVICE BOOK WILL STILL HAVE NISSAN STAMPS
zxrob
I recently paid £150 for a p1 Rob
Jimmyflo
I just buy my own parts and take it to a reputable local garage that just happens to specialise in Audi rs cars so he's pretty good. Most Nissan dealers nowadays probably don't even know what a z is seeing as Nissan just keep chucking out dross( gtr being the exception)
GreenLandy
Damn people pay a lot for someone to unscrew a bolt, undo a filter and the reverse, plus pouring a bit of oil in the top!

matt89
I just paid a locap mechanic £360 for a full fluids change (clutch/brake, coolant, oil, gearbox & differential), new oil filter, new front discs and pads. Very good value if you can bare not going to a main Nissan dealer. Car was only serviced 1500 miles ago (previous owner) so air filter looked fine but sparks needed doing next time. I would highly recommend going local mechanic or Indy garage.
rabbitstew
Thats a crazy price for just an oil + filter change. Even BMW only charged me £140 for that when my beemer was still under warranty. The zed is really easy to work on. I did my last 350z oil change myself. Literally the hardest bit is getting the undertray off. Once thats off, the oil filter is really easy to get to. Its the same oil filter on the 350z as the Nissan Micra has and its about a fiver.
