jufun
Don't want to bore you all with my story but I used to own a pearl white 08 350z then went to a pearl black 370z.... Due to buying a house etc... I had to sell the 370 :,( However, craving the Z!!! So..... I have found an 07 Temper Orange 350z with 42k that I'm considering buying Saturday. I know the colour is a marmite but I love it! I have a few concerns that I wanted to share and see your opinions please. Car wasn't serviced until 24,000miles.... it's had multiple since. Seems odd there are none prior. Services that have been carried out are non main dealer. MOT said movement on inner steering rack (only advisory) Gearbox rebuilt and clutch replaced October. Other than that, seems like a nice clean car... Any advice appreciated. Regards, Jon
GMballistic
Welcome aboard Jon. Do you mean it definitely never had a service until it had reached 24K miles or is that just when the paper work trail starts so it could just be missing some history/service stamps/paper work? Do you know what age the car was when it had its first service? By 24K miles according to the Nissan 350Z service schedule it should have already have had a P1, P2 (plus brake fluid) and be on its way to another P1 (plus coolant change) but it does also depend on the age so it could potentially be missing even more?!. E.g. At 1 Year or 9,000 miles (whichever sooner) P1 service Service schedule here: http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/31110-service-schedule-for-a-350z/ Not sure on the steering rack issue? Also as long as the car drives well (changes gear smoothly enough etc) then I wouldn't worry about it having had a gearbox rebuild & new clutch, ...in fact I don't think I'll be alone in thinking that is actually a plus point providing it was done correctly by a competent garage. gsexr
Sounds like a lot of issues for a 42K car
Dynamic Turtle
Yeah I'd be walking away from that one, anything that's needed that sort of work in 42k has had the arse ragged off it and the steering rack issue might be legacy crash damage. Anyone buying a car like this should be keeping perfect records and 24,000 miles without an oil change is just stupid. Plenty of other cars out there... The Big Miester
Back to the forum,as others have said tread carfully as your an ex Zedder you will no how they drive ..! all the best but it is a rare colour ...!
DonCool
Hmm.. that clutch went quickly but if it's been replaced then job saved for a while.. you pays your money and you takes your choices - you know what they drive like so there shouldn't be too many surprises.. jufun
Thanks for the feedback guys. She's very clean looking and nice spec gt pack, leather, sat Nov blah blah... Im hoping to get her for £10k I think this seems reasonable, done an rac passport check and no accidents recorded or outstanding finance etc.. Is it a fair price?
