saint
Does anyone know a decent mileage correction service around the midlands or Cheshire? I've been quoted as high as £100 which is a bit of a shock! I'm looking to swap my cluster for a working one but the cost of fixing the mileage is stopping it dead
Ekona
Is the data stored on the cluster? I thought it was stored on the ECU.
JetSet
Is the data stored on the cluster? I thought it was stored on the ECU. On the ECU, can be reflashed with the right software/hardware though. Its not like the old days when you could remove the speedo and stick a high speed drill in it Pete
Ekona
If that's the case, then no issue with swapping the cluster for any old one as the mileage will sort itself out once it's plugged in.
JetSet
Just read that some cars have a chip on the cluster, so maybe not as straightforward as I first thought. If it is on the cluster then it may be possible to simply remove/replace it unless of course it's soldered on. Pete
Jetpilot
Its stored on the speedo, not ecu, i had mine adjusted when i went from jdm to uk clocks, but was from a lad on the rx7 forum so no longer in touch.
