buckmoy
Hi all My normal garage (Martin down at Luccombe in Bristol - brilliant bloke) doesn't have the kit to fit a new clutch and flywheel to my 350z He recommended Bristol Transmissions and I just spoke to them...when I mentioned wanting a single mass flywheel fitted they pretty much put the phone down on me! Said it causes "problems" and they have been caught up in "blame games" after fitting them. So: does anyone know of a decent place that will fit a clutch and flywheel? Cheers! AliveBoy
Er, any competent garage can change the clutch and flywheel on a Z. I did it on the road outside my house and I'm not a mechanic by any means! The only "specialist" tools you need are a torque wrench for the flywheel bolts and a clutch alignment tool which normally comes in the box with the clutch. single mass flywheels can cause issues in some cars, but the 350z generally isn't one of them. It's just a little bit more noisy than the dual mass one.

buckmoy
Aliveboy (or anyone else) - does 6 hours sound about right to do this? Thanks
Richf
Its true it can cause crank damage to some cars I dont blame the garage not wanting to do it Is the car drivable or has the clutch totally gone
AliveBoy
I've heard that the "book" time from Nissan is around 5 hours, so your guy saying 6 to allow for issues is probably about right. H-dev have a list of prices on their site: http://www.h-dev.co.uk/index2.php?page=350z_common look at around £300 including VAT for the clutch plus a bit for the flywheel, h-dev are reasonable on price and great on quality
AliveBoy
forgot to add, H-dev do a lot of these, so will be fast. Your guy may well be a bit more, so I wouldn't count him out just on that if he is good

Richf
another vote for Horsham , a lot to be said for having a specialist generally look at your car while its in there
Bockaaarck
Would recommend Horsham Developments too.You may also want to tak them about looking at doing the master / slave cylinder at the same time. As from my experience, its worth doing both while the car is in for the clutch change Edited January 12, 2016 by Bockaaarck
