Soundwave
Howdo peeps, Well after a quick search on here it appears that the Zed takes 6.5" components up front can anyone just confirm that for me??? I'm massivly into my music so the first upgrade when (& if) I get my Zed will be to replace the standard system & seeing as my Leon takes 6.5's up front as well would be nice if I could just swap over the ID Chameleons I currently have in there...because they are great Thanky in advance Neil
H5
I think you may well be right, but I'm having 6" components put up front in mine as you get a better range of speakers in that size.
GIXXERUK
The factory speakers are 6.5" both front and rear. http://www.350z-tech.com/zwiki/Speakers_%28FAQ%
Soundwave
Thanky both Now I seriosuly need to get my finances in order & buy one Oooh quick question as well...whats it like for fitting subs & amps?? I have 2 Genesis Profile amps (P4 & P1) & a Directed Designs 2512 12" sub in a 1.3cu ft enclosure Neil
GIXXERUK
what h/u ? bose ? to fit an amp and sub you need to do a complete install really the bose pushes out peanuts to the sub so any aftermarket sub just want get enough drive
Soundwave
Oooh no sorry It will be run from a Pioneer DEH-p8600MP Head Unit. Neil
GIXXERUK
wierd that, i have (from my last car sitting in the spare room) a pioneer 9600 iirc , a genesis amp and a pair of focal comps and a vibe sub (it sounded ) i know it doesnt look it but there is loads of room to fit audio gear, once the plastics are off behind the seats there is masses of room dynamat xtreme in the boot and wheel arches is a good idea aswell

Should get that gear fitted...although maybe lose the Vibe lol (J/K my mate has a vibe & it does just fine) Reckon lots of Dynamat maybe needed...only real problem I can see is that anybody & their nan will see whats in the boot because of the design...unless I can get one of the Rear Deck Tonneau covers I guess?? GIXXERUK
i've got a tonneau , that reduces some road noise and gives a bit of privacy into the boot i know the vibe seems chavvy but it worked well the xtreme stuff is expensive but its half the weight for the same sound deadening performance the bose amp is in the boot under the carpet, its easy to do a stealth install on the zed

Oh is the Bose amp a big size?? The footprint for both the Genny Pro's is Pro 4 - (H/W/D) 38 x 217 x 300mm Pro 1 - (H/W/D) 38 x 217 x 300mm So unless I do a full stealth install with a false floor not sure they'll hide under the carpets anyway...not to mention the fact that I'd have to add some extra cooling anyway I guess
GIXXERUK
theres is big space/ glovebox behind the passenger seat, i think both amps would fit in there, maybe throw a fan on the door to keep them happy

Andy
Just be careful with the door speakers as the standard speakers have a pretty small magnet. Anything with a half decent magnet and the window will catch as it reaches its maximum drop. I'll try and get some pics up of my install when I get time to upload them as the boot section is almost finished now!!
GIXXERUK
handy site - http://liljerk.morpheus.net/350Z/ with the front speakers you have 3 choices :- 1, buy some spacers made of mdf (only seen these for sale in the usa - ebay) 2, make your own spacers 3, using the existing speaker spacer which is part of the oem speaker, this does involve destroying the bose speaker (no great loss) another good guide - http://www.350z-tech.com/zwiki/Tutorial ... stallation

H5
Space wise, it depends how far you want to go. There is plenty of space for racking amps behind the seat. There is also the rear speaker 'bar' which also has a couple of cubbies in it. You could remove it, make a replica up using it as a mould, and put whatever you like into it. The cubbies are also big enough to fit 6 disc changers in.
