Red_Nic
My car had been mis- firing only on tick over for a few months. When I took it for an mot , it was on tick over for a while, then the engine management light came on. When plugged in, it said "engine mis-fire" . But since the code has been cleared off, the light hasn't come on again, nor has it mis-fired. Any ideas on the cause? Spark plugs were replaced 5000 miles ago. Could it be the spark plugs leads? Anything else to check? Many thanks in advance.

Ekona
Tbh if it's not come back or happened since you reset the codes, then I'm not sure I'd worry too much about it. Could be a dodgy coilpack on the way out, or something wasn't quite plugged in properly, or a bit of water go where it shouldn't, or anything really. Don't let it bother you, cars do weird things sometimes and then they sort themselves out

If the EML comes back on then have the code re-read and then go from there.
ZMANALEX
Yeah, probably just a glitch, so if it ain't broke then don't fix it. If the EML comes back on, then just pull the code and post up hear or drop me a PM and I will soon tell you what it is.
