andy james
£35.00 - Citroen Light Fifteen with numberplate NUC 99 ... similar to this VVVVV Wow! My 1976 Ford Capri 1.3 in white with the very trendy black leatherette roof cost me the princely sum of £650! Bet that Citroen would probably buy you a house if you still had it now! Wasso
Is that how much they were on a Y plate? In 1.8D Zetec spec, yup! Think I had a couple of option packs too like aircon and heated front screen, but it was definitely around that mark. Still a great car. I paid £12k for my 1.8 Zetec Collection, which was 1 year old and 10k miles, so 16k wouldn't be too far adrift. Mine also had all the major mod cons and the amazing heated front screen. With the collection came all the Limited Edition parts such as one off alloys, skirts, bumpers front and rear with mesh grills and a roof spoiler. Made all the standard focus cars look a little underwhelmed. I paid £450 for my Ford Escort MkII 1.3 Ghia. So simple but fun!
Richy
My two year old 1.6 Capri cost me £1700 in 1978. Took me five years to pay off the loan from memory.

Cyder
A 1998 Peugeot 106 1100cc for £1600 in 2004. I loved that car, it could be driven flat out everywhere and had lift off oversteer for added fun. Also it handbrake turned an absolute treat! In a weird sort of way I still miss it now. rabbitstew
Mine was a 1972 850cc Mini, which cost me £20 back in 1992. I spent about £100 on it getting it through its mot, which included doing tons of welding and respraying the entire car. Insurance cost me over £500 third party only. Ran it for 2 years, by which time it was then so rotten it was beyond fixing, so I scrapped it and actually made a profit on it from selling all the parts off. jimboy2
Mine was a F reg, faded red Ford Fiesta popular plus cost £500. Was nothing plus about it. Had a picture of Jesus where the passenger wing mirror adjustments should have been. No stereo so I had a ghetto blaster in the foot well. And the under steer was tremendous! Picked up lots of "hot chicks" around Portsmouth in it Edited December 1, 2015 by jimboy2
