Kestrelone Posted November 28, 2015 Posted November 28, 2015 (edited) I have the cold air intake pipe fitted with the filter cone behind the front bumper and just forward of the offside front wheel. Bit worried about sucking in water from flooded roads and wrecking the engine. Intake pipe bypass valves seem to be available in the USA at reasonable prices but nothing available here ! Anybody have one or know of a supplier Edited November 28, 2015 by Kestrelone Quote
Jay Kay Posted November 28, 2015 Posted November 28, 2015 Think you can get covers for the filter can't you? Quote
Kestrelone Posted November 28, 2015 Author Posted November 28, 2015 Have heard that. More worried about the filter being submerged when hitting deep puddles, especially at night when often invisible. From that view the intake is on the wrong side, I.e. Gutter side! Quote
Tricky-Ricky Posted November 28, 2015 Posted November 28, 2015 Just use a slightly shorter intake pipe and save yourself some money, unless your planning on fording a few streams. Quote
Kestrelone Posted November 28, 2015 Author Posted November 28, 2015 It's my sons car! Suggested moving the filter up into the under bonnet area for the winter but he is not keen. Problem compounded by the lowered suspension. Maybe have to get a bypass valve from the U.S. Quote
Ekona Posted November 28, 2015 Posted November 28, 2015 For a gain of precisely zero horsepower, is it worth the risk? Tell him not to be so silly, and put the intake in a more sensible place. 2 Quote
