nissanjuke
HI fellow zd,s can anyone give me any advice on the above,as my cut out comes in about 6500rpm,is it wise to get it removed and how do you do it?
Ekona
Erm, no. Just no. It's there for a reason. Unless you've strengthened your engine, you need it right where it is.
BobbyZ
Do it. I bet the power output at 10,000rpm is off the hook!
nissanjuke
MY car rpm only goes up to 8000 max.2005 roadster with uprev, hfcs, milltek, plenum spacer and pop charger.
BobbyZ
In all seriousness, it's there to protect your engine. As Dan says, you need a lot of uprated parts before you can raise the rev limit. The mapping also wouldn't cater for higher engine speeds, so even if it stayed in one piece you wouldn't get any more power.

Ekona
Interesting my friend, need more info on this lads. cheers How much info do you want?! Your car will not do more than 6500 rpm safely. You cannot EVER do more than that without major engine work. Just because the speedo says 180mph, doesn't mean your car can do that either

tomzzzcattle
I believe having your car uprev remapped raises it by 100 RPM safely. see link http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/26862-up-rev-re-flashes/
brillomaster
i wouldn't recommend it... have occasionally bodged a downshift in the track car and accidentally put 7000rpm through a motor with a redline at 6500rpm... it did not sound happy! Ekona
You wouldn't even notice 100rpm.
tomzzzcattle
Everyone to their own, but I noticed the difference, and I'd recommend it too, you're in safe hands with Abbey MS (Years of experience ) but I wouldn't recommend down-shifting at 7000rpm though- you might break something! Ekona
You noticed the difference from the Uprev, but no way in hell you noticed the extra 100rpm. Go sit in your car, and rev the engine to 1000rpm and hold. Now do it at 1100rpm. It's incredibly hard to do, as it's such a minute difference. Another 500revs you'd notice, but another 100? Sorry, but I can't see it.

I can feel the difference it makes.
