hem
Hey guys im new to the forum... was hoping somebody would know if the Armytrix Super Sport Valvetronic Performance Exhaust would pass an mot test either with the decatted downpipe with cat simulator option or without the cat simulator option which im guessing would then be just a catbak system anyway? Cant seem to find any info regarding mot testing 2014 Nissan 370z Nismo,Storm white
Ekona
Same as any exhaust, if it has a cat then you'll be fine (as long as it's a decent one that does actually filter the nasties), if no cat then it's an automatic fail.
Jetpilot
I have not heard one in person but understand them to be LOUD, mot testers "can" fail a car for being excessively loud, but, never heard of it happening, as Ekona says, you will def need cats present so no decat. hem
thanks guys, i was curious about the decatted downpipe with cat SIMULATOR option i mean if its simulating a cat im hoping it would fool the test?
Ekona
Lol not at all, it'll be bloody obvious to the tester that it's a testpipe and not a cat! All the simulator will be is either a resistor in the O2 sensor wire, or an extender to move the sensor out of the gasflow. It'll fool the ECU, but it won't fool someone looking at it nor the MOT sniffers. Edited November 22, 2015 by Ekona

Ekona
I would, unless you want to be chopping and changing the cat once a year. Some people do (I did with my MX-5) so always an option.
hem
Thats what im trying to avoid. its Hassle enough having to travel to get it mot/serviced each year as the local nissan dealers around my area dont work on the 370z!!! didnt know that beforhand either Lol
BulletMagnet
Nissan dealers are not worth going to anyway, so don't worry (honestly, it's the truth)
