14N
Has anyone got one or could make a recommendation? You know the kinda thing - ideal for vacuuming car mats/interior. I'm thinking a rechargeable one would be better than a 12v item that's powered off the cigarette lighter. But this is based on no research or any facts what-so-ever. So who's got one? What ya got? Is it any good? Cheers
ZEUS
I have one of these for my boat and also use it in the car, works well for the price. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Portable-Car-Vacuum-Vac-PAD1200-Auto-Flexi-12V-Black-And-Decker-Valet-Cleaning-/272042176528?hash=item3f56fa3010:g:3XsAAOSwEeFVURhm
Stutopia
I've got one of these, http://www.halfords.com/motoring/car-cleaning/interior-cleaning-vacuums/black-decker-dustbuster-12-volt-car-vacuum it sucks. Not in a good way Blows dust out the side, the attachments fall off, it's only virtue is being 12v so I don't have to faff with extensions. Buy cheap, buy gash. I may well be treating myself to some sort of Dyson for Christmas.
350zedd
Use one of these for the zed. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Electrolux-WorkZone-Z61A-Cylinder-Cleaner/product-reviews/B000ND6ZM6 I prefer mains rather than battery power for a sustained 700W suck. Ya cant beat mains for a good suck! Edited November 16, 2015 by 350zedd
HEADPHONES
http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B00HSPR7L0/ref=mp_s_a_1_12?qid=1447629491&sr=8-12π=AC_SX110_SY165&keywords=black+and+decker+dustbuster+pivot+18v I got this from an outlet store fir £50 couple years ago. A charge will do a family saloon car/about 7mins.......and that's with the bombsite around 2 child seats too! Use it alot round the house too (crumbs in the sofa, skirting boards and the tops of door frames etc) Can't match a proper vac but I can't do without mine. JetSet
Yeah, I got a cheap 12v one from ASDA, won't pick up anything heavier than a grain of sand so complete waste of money really . Used to use a rechargeable dust bug but that was only O.K for getting fluff and very small stones up (it wouldn't pick up the sunflower seeds that I dropped on the floor) and it wouldn't fit down the sides of the seat where most of the rubbish seems to gather. veeg33
I bought one from Lidl last year for my zed. Cost less than a tenner (£9.99) and it pretty good the money. Its a 12v vac with few accessories attachment. http://www.offerscheck.co.uk/silvercrest-handheld-car-vacuum-cleaner/lidl/2014/kw-31/84781
roadtrip
I've got a Black & Decker rechargeable one similar to this: 12V Dustbuster Flexi Hand Vac. It's quite good and will last about 10 minutes on a charge before the suction drops off too much. It gets used around the house mainly and the flexible hose is great. Takes an age to charge though, first charge is 12 hours, so if you run out half way through you'll be waiting a long time to finish the job. For the money I paid you can now get similar Black & Decker ones with Lithium-Ion batteries like this one: 18V Lithium-ion Dustbuster Flexi Hand Vac, which I would expect to be much better. I have a slightly different version but like the idea of the flexible hose.
14N
Thanks all, I appreciate your feedback Think I'm gonna go for the Black & Decker Pad1200 (as Zeus recommended) - It's currently only £30 with free P&P on Amazon: http://www.amazon.co.uk/BLACK-DECKER-PAD1200-Flexi-Vacuum/dp/B002JCSCUW/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1447673468&sr=8-1&keywords=pad1200 Seems to get good reviews wherever you look. The more traditional 12v 'Dustbuster' style ones don't seem to fair so well, and this seems to be the general consensus elsewhere too. Sucky sucky. Me love you long time. 14N
Maybe pop a review up? Will do, but I'm afraid you'll have to wait. Normally I'd have already hit the 'Add to Basket' and 'Checkout' buttons by now and the Black & Decker Pad1200 would be on its way to me, or at least on a warehouse operative's picking list. But I'm afraid this one has had to be added to my letter to Santa as the "Give is some ideas what to get you for Xmas" and "You're so difficult to buy for" statements have started. Hopefully this suggestion will prevent me getting yet another Terry's Chocolate Orange and a Lynx shower gel and deodorant box set.
ZEUS
Good choice Ian, I've had mine over a year now and it's had a lot of use. It picks up well and even has a conical filter in it (clean filter after each use to keep suction at its best) I think it's as good as you will get without using a mains vacuum or spending big money on a Li cordless.
