SherlockH
Could someone please advise what these two pipes are on my plenum (original) as my carbon fibre plenum doesn't have them ?
Vlad
They are for the coolant I believe
SherlockH
Yeah some coolant did splash out but only a little, are these pipes essential? I'm pretty new to the zed so what exactly do they cool and why ?
Vlad
Well I guess they are part of a cooling system. Not sure if you can bypass them. I'm sure someone who knows more will pop up soon
SherlockH
Sort of just had a @*!# myself moment, but all is good had a google around just now and it's a fairly common mod on my350z.com forums so panic over! Just have to figure out how to bypass it, but of tubing or pipe
Wasso
The coolant pipes are for heating the TB in colder climates, hence that my350z folk choose depending on where in the US to bypass the plenum coolant input/output. If you live in Sweden for instance, it's there for -10 temps (example). Having a carbon plenum with coolant input/output makes no sense purely as its not metal. Which is why you won't have pipes for the coolant.
Rich260
I believe these pipes are to stop the TB being exposed to freezing temps. Once warm the coolent circulates through these pipes. As you say, it's a popular mod in the state's to keep intake temps down. As long as you're not driving in freezing conditions, I can't see bypassing it with a link pipe being an issue! Looking forward to seeing this CF plenum installed ^^^Beaten to it^^^ Edited November 13, 2015 by Rich260
SherlockH
Anyone know what the two vacuum lines off the plenum feed ? Mainly interested in the one at the top of the throttle body Think one feeds some sort of servo?
