Interior Plastics Repair

Hi Guys,

 

I was cleaning my interior the other week and noticed the "paint" has come off of the gear surround revealing the grey plastic:

 

 

I think I was a bit too vigorous with the cloth and I was dusting everything , but hey ho. What would be the best way to go about repairing it? It's a facelift, if that helps, not sure if the plastics on the pre-facelift gear surround were any different.

try some shoe poilsh? trouble is its matt so you dont want to use anything shiny or glossy. ??? Maybe someone will come along who's done it before will know?

I tried shoe polish but it didn't seem to take. Maybe I was using the wrong brand/technique

Whip it off and plastidip it.

I'm with Ricey. Was going to say plasti dip it but he beat me to it. Cheap and quick fix, will be a good result too.

Mine did the same. I used satin plastidip spray and it looks OEM again.

Damn good that stuff.

Cheers guys! Did you have to spray the whole thing or just the damaged bit?

I sprayed the whole thing, just so it all looked uniform.

The silver bit comes apart from the black plastic, so no need to mask. No need to sand it, just wash with fairy liquid, dry well and spray. About four coats.

Is matte black the one I'm looking for? Going to order it the now and can't find any satin black plastidip, but matte comes up so assuming matte/satin is the same thing!

I found it cheaper somewhere else.

I chose satin because the interior is satin. Slight sheen.
