niz
Changing my exhaust - I was going to delicately remove my old one and keep it but it's grotty as anything so I don't care about it. I was going to just cut the Y pipe with the grinder and grind off the bolts. Is this ok? The bolts aren't studs that are integrated to the cat or anything? Should I be able to cut them then bang them out? Edited October 30, 2015 by niz
KyleR
Work away, they're just bolts
niz
Cool I was just worried about mating to the cat with my new y pipe
ZMANALEX
Best to try and save the studs that are part of the cats (front part of Y) Yes, they can be cut off and replaced with bolts, however a bit of heat on the nuts should facilitate removal. I could do with bit of heat on my nuts in this cold weather
niz
The bolts were a mess, really rusted. I just cut them pressed them out with a ball joint splitter. I got everything replaced using little ramps on my driveway and I'll say I didn't like it!
