TheRabbiJones
Thanks all for your help and opinions, but I'm just going to wait till I'm 25 and for the people wondering, I have no points or convictions and haven't ever had a claim. i also almost bought a Galant vr4 insurance was £400 over Christmas, but by the time i got hold of the guy selling the car the insurance company wouldn't guarantee the £400 premium and instead quoted me £3500 like it was normal. Looks like I don't seem to have the best of luck.
veilside z
Before you rule it out, out of interest just put the reg of a 350 in Go Compare. You see all the quotes come rolling in, in front of your very eyes and is interesting to see how many are prepared to insure you against who actually will. Put the compulsory excess at £350 and a voluntary at your discression being the higher better.
-Bradders-
Have you got a gf or someone at same address who has a car? My insurance was 1900 on its own, plus my gf's was 1400, we done admiral multicar and it cost us just 1400 for the both. that was to drive eachothers aswel (pffft like hell i'd let her take the zed out) lol

Shenley
It has to be the postcode. When I moved from Hertfordshire -WD7 to the middle of nowhere in Cornwall -PL12 my insurance dropped dramatically. Used to be £250 / 300, now it's just over £100. Nothing changed except the postcode. WD7 was a D* and PL12 is an A. Same applied to my motorcycle and the wife's car.
nowhereboy
Yup insurance is based on statistics over nearly everything else these days. How many claims are made in your postcode, your age group, your vehicle group, occupation etc etc. I'm at work right now, sat in an insurance office

Ukeraa
23. 0 no claims bonus, but no accidents (was abroad for too long and my insurance claims expired). £680 per year with all mods declared and insured, £20 of that is for business use. I keep mine in a locked garage overnight. I think maybe your location maybe something to do with it?
mangi420
I'm about to start to drive a zed and the insurance is £2700 with 2 years no claims and I'm
MrLee
I'm 37, have about 15 years NCB and mine is £320! No one even came close at renewal time. Ironically it went up a whole £12 when I moved from where I had to park in the road to a much nicer house with a driveway (no idea why, if anything the car is far less likely to be damaged!). Also, the Zed was about £250 a year cheaper than my FTO, but I blame the fact that was a grey import. Oh, I'm with Swiftcover (for now), and previously was with Sky. Andy_Muxlow
That could be down to your postcode MrLee. the old postcode lottery I would think.
MrLee
I reckon so, but in the grand scheme of things £12 isn't exactly a deal breaker, especially when the other companies were quoting at least £200 more.
Andy_Muxlow
Yeah true my insurance is nearly £1300 but that is for 3 cars, all parked in the parking spaces outside our house. wish i had a nice drive

Lewis_UK
Just paid £609 at 22 years of age. Very pleased. I'm assuming no cars drive in the South of Wales to be that cheap.
