Spatt Posted October 20, 2015 Share Posted October 20, 2015 sorry for killing this question. a friend is going to let me put my car on his ramp tomorrow so i can have a damn good look at the mounts and hopefully put this "niggle" i have to bed. What should i be looking for if they are in need of replacing? my reasons for thinking they have gone are; difficult to shift gear medium to high rpm keep ripping exhaust flexible connections (could this be through the engine moving under heavy acceleration) your thoughts, cheers. MDMetal Posted October 20, 2015 Share Posted October 20, 2015 Never had this on the 350 but the gf's quashqai had a lower engine mount that perished, you could wiggle it by hand so was pretty obvious. In terms of driving the give away was letting the engine switch from driving the transmission to the transmission driving the engine, you could feel the engine moving as the mount wasn't holding it securely so it rotated.
