jamez87
This car is coming on very well! I got the pleasure of admiring the motordyne exhaust from behind and with the bumper tuck, it really is a peace of art! The only thing better is the sound!

Rich260
Update time. Arbs, lower control arm polly bushes, brake lines, clutch line, rear toe and camber arms, full geo set up and HR bonnet all fitted. I searched the forum for a fast road/ track set up and found a post from philw99 that was recommended to be a good base to start with so I asked TGM to set up the car the up the same way. I am very happy with how the Z now drives, it was great before but now feels a lot more confidence inspiring and progressive in the bends. I can't wait to get it out on the track to really see what it can do. I've also got a set of Recaro SR seats that I'll be fitting as soon as the appropriate subframes arrive from jdmdistro, hopefully they will be here soon as other half isn't overly chuffed about having a pair of car seats in the lounge! I did explain to her that it was slightly more convenient than having the bonnet in there but sadly she didn't share my view point. I've replaced the original Injen filter with a nice new BMC one as it was look very tatty. Luckily for me the Injen hydroshield fitted the new filter perfectly. Pics. Rich260
Japshow at Santa Pod this weekend. Had a quality time with some great people despite the changeable weather! Also on the way home my oil pressure sensor became faulty so that's another boring job that needs to be taken care of.
Rich260
So, update time and this time it's wheels..... Again. As much as I love the original Rays I've always had a hankering to go for something a little different. So when a set of original Enkei RPF1's came up for sale I thought they will fit the bill nicely. They are not perfect, 2 have a very slight curb rash but have had such little use they still have the original stickers on the barrels. They are 18" 10J and are unbelievable light at just 8.5kg that's only 250g more that the oem Rays which are only 8J! Tyres will be fitted this week. I'm having to fit 10mm spacers all round to make the offsets work, the only issue with this is I have to also fit extended studs so the car is currently up on axel stands once again with the studs removed. I've never removed wheel studs before and was pleasantly surprised by how easy it was. Just applied a little heat with a blow torch and they tap right out. The good news is this will give me the perfect opportunity to have a good clean up of the wheel wells, brakes, suspension and get everything spotless once again. Tyres will be fitted this week so with any luck, next weekend I'll be rolling on Enkeis! Edited July 17, 2016 by Rich260
Rich260
Update time. The new wheels and rubber are on! I went for Yokohama Adan Sports and my first impressions are they are a great tyre. With the extra width upfront turn in and front end grip feels vastly improved over my previous set up and the steering feels just as nimble as with the Rays. The only downside I've noticed is a bit more road noise with the lower profile tyre but it's a small price to pay for the way the car now feels. I've also swapped out my Berks test pipes for some MD art pipes. This had quiertned up the exhaust considerably, espically higher up the rev range. Don't get me wrong it still sounds awesome but has just taken the edge off the raspiness. I'm hoping it'll be enough to pass the brands hatch noise limit for evening track days (98dB) but I'll have to get my hands on a decent meter to find out. I'm still waiting on my recaro seat mounts. Feels like it's been bloody adges now but I'm hoping they will come within the next week or so. I have contacted jdm distro and they have informed me that they need to be custom made, I wish they had been a bit more up front about the waiting time when I ordered them but hey ho, you live and you learn. Took the car to Thruxton for a skid pan session which was a giggle. If you have a spare hour on a Saturday I'd highly recommend it. You car will get covered in concreat dust though so be prepaired to was it when you get home!
davey_83
Love those Enkei rims!!! That looks isn't for me as those rims scream race spec, and the 350z is anything but..... visually
Rich260
Finished work early today so I thought I'd throw a sponge at her, go out for a blast and take some pics before the next body shop trip. I picked up a chargespeed rear bumper from cascade88 (Nice to meet you Luke) last weekend. It was a 7 hour round trip but worth it! That's being fitted this Tuesday and I cannot wait! The recaro subframes are also now in my local delivery depo according to the tracking number this should be a good week if all goes to plan. And an arty one as I had the misses camera phone which is a lot smarter than mine.

Rich260
I finally got the car back from the body shop today and I have to say I'm well happy with the results! It's tough to get a decent picture due to my tremendous lack of photography skills and the car being black but take my word for it, they have done an amazing job. The CS skirts and rear bumper fit perfectly. I also gave the car a good going over in preparation for Wings and Wheels at Dunsfold tomorrow. If the weather holds up it should be a gooden. The subframe for the Recaro seats also arrived so I fitted them to. I find them a lot more supportive than the oem seats which is what I was after. I may look to get them re trimmed in the not too distant future but that can wait as they are in fairly good condition.

Rich260
Been playing with some lights for the last week. Only just got them back on the car today and the front bumper is still off. It was a lot more work than I was expecting to get them painted and adapt the wiring harness to suite a 6 pin connector but I think the final result will be worth it.
cascade88
Hi Rich, cars looking good only just spotted this. Bumper looks ace I'm a bit gutted but pleased it's put to good use.
Rich260
Lights all done and car put back together. I also made an aluminum cover for the oil cooler for the colder winter months.
Rich260
Got a couple more bits done on the car, fitted a motordyne thermal gasket to the plenum to help further reduce intake tempratures. Whilst I had the plenum off I got a bit carried away and decided to smooth off and "polish" the inside of the plenum to aide air flow. Has it made any difference to the power? Almost certainly not but for the sake of a couple of hours on the grinder/dremel I thought it would be rude not to try. Took a couple more pics with the lights installed. I can't help but think a nismo v2 front bumper would finish the car off nicly for external mods. I may just keep an eye out for one. Next couple of bits are on order from Adrian, a 380RS pedal and a v2-v3 upgrade kit for the SPL front camber arms as the v2 versions are a bit noisy. Also stocked up on Castrol edge ready for the next oil change this side of Christmas.

Ceejay29
What a fine example! A lot of effort and trick parts have clearly gone into this build How can you even consider parting with it!!
