A few more updates, the biggest of which is the new brake set up. I must say it's without doubt the best thing I have done to the car. The DBA T2's and the ferodo pads work like a dream together, I've had a few chance's to use them in anger since since bedding them in and the car stops like it's hit a tree. I'm hoping to get out on a track day this year where I can see how they stand up to prolonged abuse but I'm confident they will hold up.

Other bits and pieces include a CF slam panel and an Evo harness cover. I think they go quite well together but it dose bring another issue of how to clean the engine!

To protect them from the elements I have devised some super high-tech vent covers.

Next up is a wheel refurb/ recolour. It's booked in to The Wheel Specialist on Thursday and the wheels are going David Dickinson bronze! I love the look of after market wheels but I love the handling aspects of the Rays more :)

I must admit when I first saw them on the car I was unsure but they are really growing on me! I've taken them off to give them a good wax, seal and get some Meg's tire gel on the rubber. Never used this stuff before and I have to say I'm very impressed, give a lovely deep shine.

Only thing I didn't like was how the colour clashed with the door handles so I've dropped them down my local body shop, TGM Sports to have them colour coded. They are also going to paint the strut cover the same colour as the wheels to bring it all together. They have also quoted me £300 for a front bumper resprey and smooth over so I'll probably get that sorted towards the end of feb ready for show season!

So the door handles, strut cover and wheels are now compleat and I have to say I'm very pleased with the over all look. My only issue is I'm not convinced about the paint work on the wheels. The strut cover and wheels were done in the same paint, out of the same tin yet there appears to be quite a difference as you can see in the last pics! I know the wheels took two attempts as the there was light spots on the first attempt and I wonder if the paint has been put on too thin or perhaps mixed to the incorrect ratio.

I know that there may be a slight difference in colour depending on what material but as you can see it's quite noticeable when the two parts are side by side! I'm currently debating wether or not I should take it back to the wheel place and see what they say about it or just live with it as it's not overly noticeable unless you put the parts side by side...

Just a couple of updates. Got a new DA polisher so have been playing with that. Have removed the rear spoiler and booked it in for a respray to sort out the mess it's left! Fitted new rear lights. Very happy with them, amazing what a difference it makes.

With the revised images, your car is increasing to grow into a lovely looking machine. Just when you think you are nearing the end of your upgrades, another modification springs to mind. The Z is a very modable car. Keep the good work up buddy. :)B):)

So another couple of updates. I've managed to do a bit of house keeping this weekend, I used to run 2 sandwich plated on my oil cooler set up, 1 for the thermostatic plate and 1 for the temp gauge sensor. I've never really liked it as it looked a bit unsightly and has more joints than necessary which is just another place to develop a leak. After reading one of Mark @ Abby Motorsports posts I discovered there's already a tap in on the DE block that allows for a oil temp sensor to be fitted. After removing the plug I discovered it was an M12x 1.5 thread so I got an adaptor to suit my sensor. I also took the opportunity to fit a HKS oil filter.... #becauseitspink and a magnetic sump plug. All topped off with Castrol Edge Titanium 5W-30 (my 3rd oil change in 6 months of ownership :s ). I'm now much happier with the set up, looks far more oem to me.

I also sprayed and fitted my new cabin brace, just needed new longer bolts to be able to use the standard seat belt's but other than that it went in like a dream.

Few more updates:

Wrapped the Injen CAI in MM heat reflective tape.

Smoothed over Nissan burger recess and number plate holes on front bumper and primed ready for paint. It's currently at TGM Motorsport and should hopefully be back fully painted up this week.

I also replaced the diff oil whilst doing the exhaust. To be honest the existing oil look nearly as clean as the new oil but it's nice to do these things for piece of mind.

Amazing work again! Pictures on the previous page of the DA work look awesome well done!

Those motordynes really are a piece of art aren't they! How does it sound now?

Thanks mate :) yes the TDX2 is an amazing bit of kit, I spent a decent amount of time admiring the welds as they are so perfect.

The noise is unbelievable, I've only done a few miles with it on but already I'm in love. Burbles away at low revs and comes to life when you plant your foot. Not just loud but a really nice exhaust note to.

A few more parts arrived form Clark Motorsport yesterday which means I have a fun weekend ahead of me fitting them all :D

44D80ED4-C430-4683-A0A2-FCCDE59CF299-5997-00000AB7BFF5699A_zps72zw6pcr.jpg

Eibach arbs, Eibach rear toe and camber bolts, superpro front control arm bushes and a full geo set up should finish off the suspension upgrades for now. Then it'll just be a case of replaceing the rest of the OEM bushes with super pro and installing a quaife diff!

CAF1860F-AD48-448B-9803-12A7F0F0032C-5997-00000AB7CA45E9C8_zpsmpsjzqo7.jpg

HT SS brake and clutch lines with fresh fluid will compleat the brake set up. I may look at a BBK at some point but I find the brembo set up with T2 disks and DS2500 pads more than adequate for what I need. I wrapped the clutch line in heat reflective tape to try and help keep fluid temps down.

BE1BA57D-A204-4EF6-A0B1-D20D70D72D0C-5997-00000AB7D9D41EAC_zps0hak1ir5.jpg

I also used sea foam on the intake and fuel system. I can't honestly say it's made the blindest bit of difference but after seeing a youtube video where they showed before and after pictures of the pistons it did look like it removed at least some of the carbon deposits on the pistons. **WARNING** the intake cleaner produces a LOT of smoke! We did it outside a friends garrage and it basically smoked out his entire road! I would certainly recomend you do it in a car park somewhere away from any houses!

Thanks gents. I did all the prep work myself then took it to my local body shop for the paint. The guy there dose very good work and I thought it would be sole destroying for me to go through all that prep only to make a hash up on the paint!
