runonair
Help Getting straight to the point. I have a 350z that went in for a clutch and flywheel replacement today and all was well with the car (other than the clutch). I have received the car back and it does not want to get going any more, sluggish pull away, low power and if i rev the car to say 5000 and let it return to tick over it has a lot of back firing. Have they forgotten to plug something back in, i know that a loom runs under the gear box that plugs into quite a few things as i did a clutch replacement some years ago, or is this just a massive coincidence. ZMANALEX
I would be looking at the Crank Position Sensor or perhaps the flywheel fitted in the wrong position. Alex.
runonair
Ok thanks Alex I am hoping that if they do a diagnostic that this possible Crank position sensor issue will show up because i thought that the flywheel was located with a dowel pin meaning it can't go in wrong. ZMANALEX
Gary, You are correct that the fly is located with a dowel pin, however the untrained can sometimes still manage to fit it wrong. Alex.
Ricey
Isn't there 4 different ways you can mount the fly and only 1 is right......I seem to recall us learning that the hard way! Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
Ricey
Don't remember any dowel pin on the one we did though Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
runonair
Thanks for the replies. If there is 4 different ways that the flywheel can be positioned, then if it was say 180 out how would it still run. Gary
Ricey
Probably wouldn't. Perhaps 90 out is enough to run but badly. Don't quote me on the 4 ways thingie. I'm trying to remember what our mech said ......Alex knows better. Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
runonair
Thanks everyone for the input. Yes the flywheel did have 4 holes to locate the single dowel pin on the crank And yes they did put it on in the wrong place. All sorted now and she Flys………...
