veeg33
More details on why your Zed failed MOT will be useful. Is this the component causing your zed to fail? All rusted? https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=350z+w+brace&biw=1477&bih=740&tbm=isch&imgil=QSzljBYzLradJM%253A%253BXq1NCJDchfMHiM%253Bhttp%25253A%25252F%25252Fwww.350z-uk.com%25252Ftopic%25252F74933-31-months-with-the-shark%25252F&source=iu&pf=m&fir=QSzljBYzLradJM%253A%252CXq1NCJDchfMHiM%252C_&usg=__wjgUAc40ZYI9_q153aZZEfeGxIM%3D&ved=0CCYQyjdqFQoTCKGIjJzzo8gCFUiYGgodvckFgQ&ei=h4cOVuGoHciwar2Tl4gI#imgrc=QSzljBYzLradJM%3A&usg=__wjgUAc40ZYI9_q153aZZEfeGxIM%3D Ebay specials --> http://www.ebay.co.u...=item3f315013a8 Or PM Zmanalex for a good pre-loved W-brace

gringo
Reason for my poor description is I haven't seen it........Just a verbal description via a telephone......Thanks for the pics .......I'll see if that's the part.
370Ad
Reason for my poor description is I haven't seen it........Just a verbal description via a telephone......Thanks for the pics .......I'll see if that's the part. If its rusty then usually they give you an advisory. I would either find a new MOT place or get a second hand one off eBay if your handy with a socket set. veeg33
I'm assuming it has rusted into pieces hence fail MOT? IMHO, it should be advisory rather than fail. At least you know where to get one now. Decision decision.....

GMballistic
Any recommendations?....Are the ebay specials better than OEM? As SuperStu mentioned the Ultra Racing ones from eBay are a great replacement that I usually recommend to members on here as they are cheaper than the OEM versions, look pretty good, fit well and do exactly the same job. Veeg did put a link for you but maybe you missed it. These are the ones: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ULTRA-RACING-4-Point-Rear-Lower-Bar-Brace-for-Nissan-FAIRLADY-Z33-350z-RL4-1259-/251972542690?hash=item3aaabbe0e2 Easy job to fit as well. Good luck.
The Trouser
If its rusty then usually they give you an advisory. Just this. That was my experience. I was told that as it is not part of the suspension mechanism it is not an MOT fail. Its just there to provide more stability and I was advised to replace it. The Zed still passed the MOT. Ricey
If you removed it it wouldn't be a fail put it that way. Probably failed on the basis of 'excessive underbody corrosion' perhaps? Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
gringo
Thanks for the replies chaps........................I shall give the MOT place a ring today to find out if removing it (temporary) will mean it passes. I've looked at the ebay sellers of the Ultra racing strut......Not one has it in stock, which is rather annoying as they are all still selling there. So hopefully can get one and have it fitted as soon as I get one delivered.
