dandan118
I've Noticed small patches of oil on my drive, i did drive up a kerb the prev day ( slowley, to park up) & heard a scraping noise from under the car when reversing off, so think i may have damaged my sump- any idea how easy a new one is to fit/ prices? Cheers Guys
sinbad
I doubt you've damaged your sump as part of the chassis bracing is the lowest part under your engine. I'd do a thorough check of where the oils coming from before doing anythings else. I dont think its too hard to change the sump though.. rmmackfc
Sump plug perhaps
JAP350Z
Probably what scraped on the kerb was the flexible coupling on the exhaust. Oil could be coming from a couple of places so best to check. Was it topped-up lately - possible overspill trickling down off engine. As Sinbad said - check were it's coming from - then you can start worrying.
dandan118
cheers guys- got it up on the ramp last night & sump was fine, i couldn't actually find a leak from anywhere & my oil level was still high... fingers crossed it's my house mates RX8 dripping oil on the drive & not mine! stevie_350z
are you sure it's oil? I was worried about a "wet patch" once and it turned out to be the aircon... give it a rub, and a sniff, and you might be pleasantly surprised.
