Mikevv
Hi guys, I was cleaning under my bonnet earlier, had a peak inside the air box.... my filter is about 1/4 full of crap and bent in a few places. Figured I'd buy a new one for the hell of it. Can anyone recommend any decent filters? All I can find are "Blueprint" for like £7 and something seems off about them to me. I don't really want to spend above £30 as quite frankly I just need it to filter well, not give me 150+ bhp I've seen a Pipercross branded filter, but not sure if anyone on here runs them? Let me know with alternatives if you have any, I have no idea what brand is in my car at the moment, but probably just a bog standard one knowing the guy I got it from - no bad thing, but I like to upgrade when things break
ZeppoJeff
I've got a Cosworth filter and I like it
tommoger
K&N for me, engine sounds better and mpg went up
coldel
K&N for me, engine sounds better and mpg went up You got better mpg off an aftermarket air filter By how much? How did you measure it?
tommoger
Yea, just the drop in panel filter (best set up for the Zed) I got on average more miles from the tank basically, can't remember figures off the top of my head Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
coldel
Would be surprised if you saw this (sorry if that sounds somewhat off!) given that you haven't changed the map on the car? Happy for some of the knowledgables to come along and tell me otherwise, just never heard of a noticable change in mpg by changing an air filter? Arran
You won't get more mpg from just a panel filter, the only way you'll get more fuel effeciancy from a Z is if you map it and even then it's marginal.
tommoger
Perhaps it was my driving style then lol. Or placebo effect, but anything's going to be better than the stock lump of cardboard Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Mikevv
I had a look for a Cosworth one, and it came up with this shape, even after checking it is for the correct SINGLE intake , they both have the same image. http://goo.gl/uA15Nq However from what I saw in my car and online the stock OEM one is rectangular like this https://goo.gl/l30Q6R Will this make a difference? Sorry this is my first car where I've actually given a damn about what I put in it Edited September 29, 2015 by Mikevv
ZeppoJeff
Demon tweeks are just going have a generic image for a Cosworth filter as they do with most products they sell. If your looking for one just get in contact with ewen at Clark motorsports as that where I got mine along with everything I needed for my p3 service. Here's a picture of what mine looks like
Juggalo
Probably get crucified for this, but I don't rate K&N. I've had them on and off for years on all sorts of cars, and when I've reverted back to standard when selling the vehicles I've noticed a remarkable boost in power. Best filters I've used are OEM, Green Cotton, and Pipercross. No increase in power, but definitely no loss in power. davey_83
in my old SR20DE i had better resutls with Pipercross over Green Cotton or OEM panel filters, no issues with the MAF either. currently using a Cosworth in the Z33 and seems pretty good.
