Dynamic Turtle
Rear boots getting a bit thin and looking at alternatives, default option would normally be MPSS but I'm feeling fruity and thinking about Cup 2s instead. Mates have them on GT3s and M3s, a bit hairy in the wet/cold apparently. Interested in hearing 370z comments. Cheers, DT

Paddy78
Are you tracking your car a lot or is this just for general driving? I think the MPSS would be better in the wet and last longer. I assume the cup 2 are more expensive as well?

jimboy2
Ekona will be along soon to give you answers. I'm sure MPSS are more than enough
Ekona
Cup2s are significantly better than Cup1s in the wet. Better wearing too! If you can afford the price and are happy with the relative limitations, then I'd go for it. Amazing tyres, by all accounts. Supply is my only concern, not so much replacing when worn but getting hold of a pair or a single in an emergency (like a puncture). They'll never be as common as the MPSS, but otherwise DO IT.

Well it's a moot point anyway - according to the Michelin website they don't appear to manufacture the 245/40/19 size required for the front axle
Ekona
Bugger How close can you get? Can you change rear sizes to ensure no TCS issues too?
Dynamic Turtle
TBH I'd rather buy MPSS than run the wrong tyre size...
Ekona
Really? As long as you do it properly, there's no harm in changing tyre size. What are stock 370Z tyre sizes?
Dynamic Turtle
Well - it's not ideal though is it? Given the optimised chassis I'd rather not fudge their tuning with the wrong size tyres. Grippier ones, yes. But not the wrong size! Ekona
Honestly, it's absolutely fine! I ran non-OEM size tyres on my 350, I run them on the MR2, as long as the tyre fits the wheel and the TCS doesn't mind then there is zero issue.
