jase4072
My engine developed a high pitched buzzing noise a little like an electrical bee stuck under the bonnet. The noise became louder as the engine warmed up and was driving me insane. I decided to take it to Nissan in the belief that they may be able to diagnose the issue quickly and without changing lots of things first, how wrong was I!! £500 later I have 2 new idler pulleys and new belts all of which did not fix the buzzing engine noise!. The technician stated on his report that the resonating noise (electrical buzzing noise to me) was possibly coming from the Oil Filter area and was most likely blocked. As I couldn't bear to hand over another £100 I carried out an oil an filter change myself and can happily report all is well in the engine department, just not in my wallet.
Bullet
Shame you had to shell out £500 for parts you didn't need but good job on fixing it yourself
