rickya
Just found this & am quite puzzled? UK prices are going to be approx £30k. A similar spec brand new JDM Import from Mitsu Japan, (Premium Package TC-SST) is Â¥4,400,000 = £19,400 so inc taxes & shipping is in mid £20k's. Now thats brand new, a 6 month old one will probably be under £20k! They say the UK spec one will be slightly more powerful than JDM but thats probably just to stop too many imports. If there is any diff it will most probably be only a be a ECU de tune- easy to fix. Any opinions? Also what are approx duty & shipping costs? (My JDM zed was already landed hence not sure on costs) http://www.tradecarview.com/stock/japan_car/4/7346/ http://www.tradecarview.com/stock/detail.aspx?sid=833191 ps also look how cheap these Lexus SC 430's are, thats approx £14k cheaper than UK ones! http://www.tradecarview.com/stock/japan_car/4/7346/
Stew
Probably best to have a chat with an import dude or the MLR as I'm sure these guys would be well up to speed.

sinbad
0-62mph : 6.2 sec282bhp from a 4.3 309 lb/ft 2110kg doh sorry.. Sounds about right to me, theyve certainly left the market open for tuning then!
Stew
The thing with lexus is the claimed figures are usually on the high side. Very easily achievable without burning up clutches (in the manuals...) and tyres. I (like others on here) had an IS and I'm sure it was quicker than the stated 0-60. My dad had an RX. Same thing. My dads ex business partner had a GS300 and a GS430 sport and guess what, same. The 430 sport was way quicker than the figures would have you believe! GC350z
The SC though is heavy, ugly, stupid rear seats and the worst alloys I've ever seen. One it was first launched the only feature I liked was the sunglass holder in the roof.
Stew
It's an american designed car for american people on american roads. It doesn't seem to crossover too well. They are kinda bling though!
Teatowel
The Evo X for £20k or thereabouts would be a real bargain though!
rickya
Yeah Teatowel, I think I will look into them closely in the last qtr of 2008 I may give it a go for a couple of years to see me through to eventually buying a 1 to 2 yr old GTR ps the UK importer for that car quoted approx £24.5k total for the 2nd one down. And thats brand new.
Teatowel
There is a reason though that no-one buys the SC Lexus - in terms of driver involvement, they are rubbish! And they look awful
Stew
I can't believe the Evo X is so cheap new. What a bargain!
GC350z
How often does this evo require a service?
rickya
Evo 9' & pre 9 were about evey 3k to 4.5k IIRC. But Evo X is supposed to go further between services.
Teatowel
Evo 9' & pre 9 were about evey 3k to 4.5k IIRC. But Evo X is supposed to go further between services. Just need to wait to ensure the UK spec is identical to the Jap spec. If the service interval goes to 9k then it's almost an automatic buy
