88sam88
Hi all, Considering changing the colour and plate on my zed .. Wanted to see if anyone else has done this and whether it affected your insurance much? Thanks
ZeppoJeff
I was insured through 1st central and as soon as I told them i was having a full respray and colour change I was told they wouldn't insure me. Moved to Adrian flux and ended up being £200 cheaper with all mods declared also
KyleR
They only know what colour it says on the V5, if you respray the car and notify the DVLA and get your V5 changed, then I see no reason to notify them. In fact, when getting a quote or reading through your policy documents, I'm pretty sure the colour won't be listed.
ZeppoJeff
It's a modification though so if not notified to insurer your insurance would be invalid

Juggalo
... I see no reason to notify them. You and 99% of the country agree. But we don't work in the whacky world of insurance. A world that refused to insure my car if it had heated leather seats, but would, if it didn't. It's a magical place, full of mystery.
