...when you have lifters on your bonnet and you use a strap of some kind to secure the bonnet to the car so it only opens around halfway...what straps are people using and where do you buy them?! I have seen lanyard types, as well as solid bars etc. Have no idea what they are technically called, hence the vague headline!

Col, I know what you mean but like you don't know what they are called. What's wrong with bonnet dampers ?. Don't they look much better and are more practical ?. Hope all is well.

Lanyards, two reasons for it

 

- People who want to just be showy with it

- Or people who don't want there bonnet getting caught in the wind snapping off the hinges, mainly carbon bonnets.

My bonnet is aluminium and very light, not as light as carbon, but does 'move' in the wind.
