Durk
As above... Don't go gloss black! You end up losing the wheels with it and I'm really not a fan... I've got mine in charcoal/anthracite by wheel specialist and I think it looks so much better than black as it's a bit lighter and suits the blue a lot more Had to zoom in to see what design the wheel is. That's why I hate black. All that money and you can't even see the mod. Go for graphite or something for a similar look but without losing the detail of the wheel I had mine refurbed smoked chrome from the wheel specialist including the lip after it got ruined. Darker than I wanted but worked out ok with azure Did both of you use "The Wheel Specialist" in Ferndown? I went there years ago for my BMW refurb with a chap named Peter. Great price, service, and top class bloke. Gave me a discount cause I was young and I said I can bring him more customers if it was done right. Needless to say he got 2 more customers because of that I went back again not too long ago for a side project - V8 Mercedes engine table - and found out there is a new owner Bloody useless to say the least. Anyways just wondering when you guys had yours done, and if it was the same place? I want to get my Rays refurbed into Anthracite or similar colour but don't trust them any more. Mine were done by the previous owner, he lived in Surrey so I guess it would be the closest Wheel Specialist to him
martybhoy
A test fit today. Off for a refurb in Monday I do quite like the colour scheme as is. I keep imagining them clean and I'm enjoying the look.
Stan350Z
I agree with most here gloss black isn't my cup of tea either for some reason it reminds me of wheels from halfords. I've just put a set of rays to be refurb'd in black chrome to go on a silver roadster, will post some pics when it comes back with the wheels and new xorst. Ps Durk your combo is easily my personal favourite on this thread - lovely shade of grey! Edited August 9, 2015 by Stan350Z
martybhoy
Just to let you guys know I chose to go with a gloss black finish and asked for it be as shiny a gloss as possible. I've always had the itch for black wheels so I've got it done. I can always change if I get bored. Here's a finished pic not on the car yet. Stan350Z
They didn't paint the centre caps do the originals look ok with the new finish?
martybhoy
This on your wheels or mine? I had custom centre caps made with the zed logo for my wheels. You can also get a set of custom zed centre caps for Rays from a member trader on here. I can't remember his name now.
Stan350Z
Wow cheers for heads up. So originals definitely don't marry up with the new finish I assume?
