brillomaster
Just booked trackday number 5 for the new beemer, we're off to Blyton Park on Sunday 16th August. Lots of availability at the moment and its a bargain price considering its a sunday in the middle of august. Just £129 for the car and first driver, additional drivers £20. http://www.javelintrackdays.co.uk/trackday/index.php?option=com_virtuemart&page=shop.browse&category_id=1106itemid=11 Blyton is a great little circuit, its quite short but its a good mix of fast sweeping corners and tighter sections. Plus, as there is no racing on the circuit there are no barriers to hit, which makes it a great track for a first trackday. You'll have seen it featured quite a lot on the EVO track battles. Anyone else fancy coming along and stretching the legs of their zeds? Seems to have been a very quiet year for trackdays so far!
brillomaster
last chance to come along, still 4 places left. It's this sunday, weather is looking good, still only £139 for the whole day!
Kieran O'Quick
Had some great days round Blyton. It's as safe as an airfield but looks like a track - white lines and tarmac for definition. Basically you can push and push till you find your limit... Enjoy yourself. Hope to see a good spin compilation video. Edited August 14, 2015 by Kieran O'Quick
brillomaster
ha not likely! have only spun once on a trackday, oulton park in freezing damp conditions. clearly not trying hard enough!
brillomaster
Well that was a fun day - beemer was handling great, and was fast... most satisfying moment for me was closing a gap on a lotus elise so he had to move over - I always through that lotus elises were sposed to be the bastion of sportscar motoring, but we're faster in our £800 bmw saloon (albeit with a few highly effective mods!) unfortunately day was cut short around midday, diff started making an alarming whining noise and on inspection appeared to have a drip of differential oil - suspect it was running a bit dry. Still, might use this as an opportunity to change our diff from a 2.93 to a 3.44, which would really help how it feels to drive on track! brillomaster
unfortunately don't have any! was going to set the camera up after lunch, but never made it to after lunch! Although we weren't trying hard enough... nothing even close to a spin! did have an incident where 4 cars slid off at the same corner due to dropped oil, but thankfully all managed to avoid each other! Kieran O'Quick
Wow, imagine how messy that could have been? Very lucky.
