Usually go M62, etc M6 but will be hitting M62 around Manchester and M6 between 7 and 9am. Any alternative route you can recommend to avoid usual Monday mrrning holdups. Would advise that you don't get on the M62 from leeds end to manchester till after 9 if you choose to avoid the traffic. At around 8 on this section it can be very busy. martinmac Posted December 2, 2007 Share Posted December 2, 2007 I travel from Kendal to A1 to go South to London. Used to use the M6 the M62. Gave up due to traffic etc. Now go North to Tebay and over the A66 to Scotch corner. Usually about 20 minutes longer due to less traffic. Nice journey. Still have a bit of traffic on M6 south of Preston but a lot easier. Alternatively come a across the A65 although timing is everything with this one.
