Ricey Posted July 25, 2015 Posted July 25, 2015 Depends on your standards and ability to spot a crap job. Personally we've rectified work carried out by them and frankly it's been crap Quote

GMballistic Posted July 25, 2015 Posted July 25, 2015 What make of alloy is it? The reason I ask is because I know you can buy Rota alloy wheel paint from Rare Rims on here & if it's not too bad you might want to try repairing it yourself. My old Rotas got curbed a few times in my ownership and I repaired them each time myself. Does take some balls though as you have to use various grades of wet n' dry paper on them until you get a smooth finish. Then prime the alloy & repaint/lacquer all done by hand. Not blowing my own trumpet but other people couldn't even tell where I had repaired it in the end. Safest bet though is probably to take it somewhere like "The Wheel Specialist" for a really good repair job. Link: http://www.thewheelspecialist.co.uk/locations/fareham-hants/ Quote

GMballistic Posted July 25, 2015 Posted July 25, 2015 Judd is the make Sent from my SM-G925F using Tapatalk Best take it to a specialist really. The only problem you might come across is getting them to match the paint, ...they may suggest you have all 4 redone if they can't get an exact paint match although unless it's a special colour or a particularly old set of alloys a colour match shouldn't be a problem. Let us know how you get on. Quote
sipar69 Posted July 26, 2015 Posted July 26, 2015 Assuming your wheels are silver rather than smoked chrome, you could try Wicked Wheels. I think they cover most of England. They are mobile but they take the wheel off and repair it in a specially equipped van. I used them a few times on my first 370 and was happy with results (I'm quite fussy too.). I believe it's a franchise arrangement though, so the quality of the work naturally depends to some extent on the individual. Whoever you choose, check online for reviews by customers. 1 Quote
bytespc Posted July 27, 2015 Author Posted July 27, 2015 OK.. Turns Out my wheels are Diamond cut and the only place that does them is in Fareham so Road trip tomorrow to get an estimate. No mobile service is prepared to take them on. Sent from my SM-G925F using Tapatalk Quote
jumping350 Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 That doesnt look bad at all should be very easy fix for competent wheel guy Quote
Stutopia Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 I used chipsaway for a similar mark about half as long. The guy did a great job (you can't see anything) for next to nothing in a few hours, but it is a franchise, so I might have just beeen lucky and got a good 'un in my postcode. Quote
bytespc Posted July 28, 2015 Author Posted July 28, 2015 so far all the people I've approached have said there diamond cut and they wont attempt the job ( frustrated ) Quote

Get it done ASAP otherwise salt could get In under the lacquer and the 'white worm' will ensue Quote

To put in perspective the best wheel refurbisher in Chester (probably Cheshire in my opinion) won't touch them situ a barge pole and that's not because they don't have the equipment. ....Just decided it was too much of a mare to rectify.
