My Zed failed it's MOT on saturday for a leaking rear O/S shock. If anyone has one (or two) OEM for sale please let me know. Thanks

I took the car in for an MOT on saturday and it failed on a leaky offside shock absorber
What make are the OEM shocks and what would the best (and most cost effective) OEM alternative be? I'm not looking to upgrade particularly.
The other option is to go S/H I guess. I assume that it's OK (but not ideal!) to replace just one side if the other's OK?
The garage also showed me some front suspension bushes (both sides) which are also on their way out. I think they are the ones on the lower control arms but i need to double check that. If so, can the bushes be fitted separately?

Awesome guys, thanks for the top advice
If we do it we'll hand it over to letting agents, let them take mosty of the hassle. We're not fussed about making anything off the rent, so long as we break even. The financial side should be OK hopefully - my biggest fear is problem tenants, as I have friends who've had issues with them.
I'll see how the sale goes and take it from there...
Thanks for the offer to look at numbers Sarnie

I wonder if anyone here can offer advice...
We have our house on the market at the moment and are feeling a little pressured to try to sell quickly (ie lower the price) due to the impending doom of the fabled 'double dip' which seems to be showing signs of happening already.
Is it worth hanging onto the house and renting it out (on separate mortgage? Interest only?) and taking another mortgage for the new house?
Can anyone advise on our options for mortgage types / interest rates / deposit percentages please?
I'm aware that if we do rent our current house out it'd be a medium to long term solution.
All advice gratefully received

No way, I used to work in the building on the left as you turn into East Mill off Clifton Marine Parade - so opposite Leading Edge labels at the back

There's a blade coupe (58 plate i think) that parks in the Bromley North area? Is it you?

It could be worse, you could be driving a Fiat 500

The Zed's not made for ubertalls. I'm 6'7" and asked the same seat question on here before manning up and getting a Z anyway. I just about fit but the seats aren't wide, low, far back enough really. I did find the manual seat in the non-GT UK car had more room, but not much more.
Once I'm driving i don't really notice it TBH, and after driving the Z I didn't want to get anything else
So basically, it's aftermarket seats or manual cloth Z seats for you my friend

so...... shift at around 4000 rpm?

I'm also interested in this, does the Car Limits tuition give any insurance benefits? I know some advanced driver training does - is it too good to be true to be able to hoon around a circuit/airfield for a day and get a decent reduction in insurance?

There's a factory set shift light that tell you when to change gear
It's user-set, not factory set
i was told that the most economical way to drive any car is when the torque intersects with the hp in a dyno graph... is this correct? No. 95% of all dyno plots will have them intersect at 5252rpm.
Aren't they set to a standard RPM at the factory? I thought it was something like 6500? I haven't played with it, it is just visual isn't it? I mean it doesn't allow the car to rev any higher? I know I should search

If you look closely in the 2nd pic you can see the solvents the fella's been sniffing....

Thanks for the advice, I like "easy to replace" I'll get in touch with Alex.
I tried the reset and it does work temporarily. I reckon a bracket needs tightening, I think i've seen a guide on here somewhere....

Cool, thanks. Do you reckon it might affect the window itself - it drops a touch at high speed/surface compressions....

No fickin waaay...where's Liam?

The trim above my wing mirror has split an needs replacing - it's the bit circled in red on the pic. Is it easy to replace? Any idea of price?

I don't care who he is, he plays the part well
Indeed, oscar winning performances from the man in white
I like Top Gear. It might not be as 'oily' as some car programmes but the format works and it means you can watch it with your other half. And the sound and video editing is superb, even if they probably take a few artistic liberties now and then.

Promises, promises
The best bit is that it's advertised in the 'Boring' section on Pistonheads
