  1. I used to be on a MKIV Golf forum and that was awful. Like sticking pins in your eyes lots of the time. I hope this one doesn't go that way over time. Innit.
  2. These debates are always interesting. At the end of the day there are now 'phones that are as good as the iPhone - the obvious one is the Desire HD. So choice has to be good. It's like skiing and snowboarding, just choose the one you want, life's too short. Careful though, you don't want to be a prick on sticks
  3. 27mph is no good to anyone! I don't know what you're talking about, there's a corner near me that's great at 27mph
  4. I've heard a Mountune Focus ST gets 27mph - is that enough?
  5. U In what way? Haha, sorry, I didn't mean Lexx' thread is wrong - just that I put a post in the wrong thread and edited it out
  6. Here's a vid of the gear lever (!) and a few photo's.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tg4b1cQq2Hs
  7. I did find the changes slow at first, and with sport selected they aren't superfast but I wouldn't say it's bad. My driving partner took some video of the gear lever by mistake happily, so I'll put the vid up if I can....
  8. I went on an Audi driving day at Silverstone the other day and thought I'd share my experience. The cars on offer were the TTRS, RS5 and R8 V10. I don't really have any track day experience, having only done a couple of supercar and rally days which were pretty strict on what you could do with the car. The Audi experience was a breath of fresh air with the instructors really pushing us and the cars. First up was the R8 and it was nothing short of awesome. We did a braking exercise and the thing stopped like it had hit a wall. The way it went, sounded, gripped, and steered was sublime and I was amazed how adjustable it was on the power. Oversteer was definitely on the menu and slides are so controllable with the ESP off. I had hoped it would be the open gate manual but it was the R-Tronic auto. I struggled with the wheel mounted paddles as they were never where I expected them to be, so I used the gear lever for changes which was fine. Sport mode gives you complete control. Next up was the RS5. It did nothing for me whatsoever, although after having been recalibrated by the R8 maybe this is to be expected. It was big, heavy and understeery. I'd like to try the RS4 which is supposed to better. Then came the TTRS, which was actually pretty good. Too neutral for my taste in the corners, but it did neutral well and really fires out of the corners - you do need to tuck the nose in on the brakes first though. The 5 pot went and sounded well and the exhaust popping on down changes was brilliant, and much (ab)used I haven't had the Zed on track so it's hard to judge, but the TT didn't seem much quicker (although the 4.5 to 60 times would suggest differently). The R8 was an absolute gem, but I'm not sure I'd get one if I had the cash. I'd probably want something with a bigger sense of occasion inside, to match the rest of the package. That thought wasn't in my head when I got out of it though, just "want one!".
  9. The Nokia thing is interesting, their phone's have always been strong on the interface and the early ones were pretty cool looking too. Remember the Nokia 7110 Matrix 'phone? That was awesome, despite the fact that the slide function always went t*ts up. After that Nokia lost touch with how people wanted their 'phones to look, and then of course Apple got it spot on with the whole lifestyle thing, apps and such like. Companies are only copying the iphone because Apple got it so right, it's just that finally there are companies which make 'phones that actually work as well as the ubiquitous iphone. HTC is the main one, Samsung are another. I freely admit that I never got an iphone simply because every other b*gger has one. I'd go as far as to say they are the Mini of the 'phone world - excellent products but soooo common. The fact that Android and other operating systems are not locked down like the Apple stuff is a bonus. GO HTC!!!! At least until they have more than 50% market share, then get an iphone
  10. Another HTC vote here. I have the Desire HD and it rocks, although it is a tad large thanks to the big screen....
  11. How about the RCZ, I think they look good (if you ignore the Pug corporate nose) and should come in at £20K with a bit of discount? They get good reviews too...
  12. I got on a train to Bournemouth, crawled around in in the dark with a torch for an hour, then gave a man some cash in exchange for a 350Z. I got hopelessy lost on the way home (my sat nav was missing the maps for that area), and spent 10 minutes in the petrol station trying to figure out how to pop the petrol flap
  13. Am I the only one hoping that Zugara's thread would contain something like this? Seriously though, good work on the repairs. I'd be going spare if this happened to me, well done holding it together there
  14. I bought a replacement wing mirror to replace the original which was kicked off by some 'tard The problem is that the wiring is different - it's missing 2 black wires. Am I right in thinking they're for the heated mirrors and so probably from a JDM? I could live without the defrosting but is there an easy way to bastardise the pair to retain it? As I'm faffing around anyway I'm going to get the Cookbot autofold done at the same time, it looks a sweet mod
  15. Saw a very nice looking Black Zed heading from Piccadilly Circus towards Charing Cross Road on Tuesday evening, registration LT07 ***. Had a cheeky Black front plate with silver text.....
  16. I haven't looked at diseasels for a couple of years but the Renaultsport Megane was supposed to be good and my old Golf MK4 GT TDi 150 was far quicker than I expected. Not sure if the MK5 version (is it 170bhp?) is any better, but it should be. The 330/335 BMW diesels are the pick of the bunch as Ekona said. Are you in the market for 2 cars? If so you could get a tidy MK4 GT TDi 150 (or VAG equivalent) and a nice toy for your budget..... Having said that though, there is a fair argument that buying a petrol need not be more expensive in the long term given that they're cheaper to buy in the first place. That's what I tell the Mrs anyway
  17. Sarnie is normally more helpful than, don't worry I think I can assist. I'm basing the value of your car on an adjusted valuation of mine which is a Kuro 2004 UK GT. I like to think mine is worth £21.5K so that makes yours worth about £15.5K. Saying that though your car has unusual wheels and a missing exhaust so who knows Your best bet is to scan Pistonheads and Autotrader for similar cars
  18. Same here, one of the best FWD's of all time. Which one did you have?
  19. What Marzman said. Can be sorted easily. Cheapest - get welded. Next cheapest - S/H exhaust (back-box back). Preferred - Aftermarket back-box for improved noise. End message.
  20. No brainer for you then, offer him £6K. He'll have trouble shifting it with the issues you've mentioned...
  21. You are a cretin and a simpleton. I genuinely hope you don't buy a Zed because under your ownership it's credibility and prices will take a sharp tumble. Unless you're willing to act like a civilised person and not some immature codpiece, kindly GTFO. Fair comment, there are far too many of these losers buying 350Z's and 'tarding them up as they are so affordable. Sounds like this particular cretin needs to realise the only car that will suit him that can afford is a Golf GTi with some blingtastic 18's. On the other hand I do wonder if someone on here has registered a fake forum account for a laugh
