That rubbish Ekona, you know it's splitting hairs, a sports car can be a coupe or a soft top. Sarnie's right - roadsters are more compromised by added weight and less rigidity, surely the only extra 'sports' kudos is due to being able to hear the engine better? I'll take a more polished drive over that anyday, it's why I wouldn't buy a Boxter but I'd love a Cayman which is the car it should always have been in my opinion, not being a hairdresser
  2. That leak is probably a feature designed in to deter tramps
  3. It's looking a bit crap at the moment but I'll reserve judgement for the finished item - providing EH 370z hasn't torched it by then I wouldn't mind if the public art that we got was cool, like much of the stuff on the continent

As RT said the Subaru version should be fun when it evolves. The styling is OK but already looks dated, the Japanese manufacturers should take a leaf (no pun intended) out of Kia's book. Their cars are looking nicely edgy these days....
  5. I agree Coldel, that metallic engine sound really disappoints, easily sorted with a decent exhaust I suppose.... As a designer I love the carefully evolved styling and the fact that Porsche has made few changes to the basic concept. This is either a brave move or a lazy 'if it ain't broke' one, either way it's clear that there has been plenty of investment in how the car drives. I'm sold on one after the Zed, although I had a test fit in my mates 993 C2S which was lined up as the next car but i don't fit
  6. I guess a track day's about driving the unattainable (for most of us). I'd love a go in the Porsche though personally.....
  7. No 911 is wrong wheel drive. Even the 4 wheel drive ones only put 10-20% forward.
  8. I know the GTR and Gallardo power is rear biased but wouldn't the 911 be more fun, assuming it isn't wrong wheel drive?
  9. It looks like the best option is to break through the wall and pull the washing m/c outside That's one tight kitchen. On a serious note, if the worktops are still serviceable can you ; Disconnect sink waste and tap tails Lift worktop off Lift washing m/c over the units to get it out? Then install new washer the same way and refit worktop / silicon. I know the washing machine will be heavy and the space is awkward so this might not work. At least it'd avoid moving the sink base unit as it's probably tied down with plumbing stuff.
  10. Dave are you Kent way? Where's the place doing the anthracite deal - and why just anthracite?
  11. I somehow managed to miss the news of Simoncelli's death until wednesday and watched the video today. Really shocking. I don't watch much MotoGP but I was really impressed with the way he handled racing against the big names - ie didn't care. At the time I was following the racing he was being penalised a lot, where other drivers would probably have got away with it. The fact that he seemed a genuinly nice, cool guy just makes this sadder. RIP.
  12. We spent last NYE in Amsterdam - they are properly mental for fireworks over there. It was literally like a warzone, a good 4 hours of constant explosions without a break - I like fireworks so I thought it was pretty cool. The streets were absolutely full of spent fireworks the next morning. It was actually quite refreshing, at least in Holland they trust people to actually have some common sense rather than nannying them. I do feel for dog owners though, we've had dogs scared sh*tless of fireworks and it isn't pretty
  13. Oh yeah, i forgot she was in that.....
  14. That Hardboiled scene is awesome! One of my favourite films is Run Lola Run, it's german with subtitles. I won't give the game away - it's about a girl called Lola who runs around a lot http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1o3rZYZR ... re=related
  15. I read an article about a fella who uses indicators in nature to forecast weather, quite interesting if you're into that sort of thing http://moreintelligentlife.com/content/ ... d-amateurs
  16. I agree with CMR, in the nicest possible way it's boy racer talk - you have to be if you really care what Focus ST drivers think about you on the road. It's scary that Zed's are so accessible, I can see the attraction when the alternatives are hot hatches.
  17. The cheapest and best exhaust replacement of you want to go SS is the Scorpion. Have a search on here. It should cost less than 400 notes and the sound isn't lary, but a huge improvement on stock. In fact IMO it's what the stock exhaust should have sounded like
  18. This ^ It sound like you won't get on with the Zed, best steer clear......
  19. The dealer selling the 'M5' also has a Boxter for less than £5K http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/ ... ogcode=dsp
  20. Car traders and estate agents are a different breed. A sweeping generalisation I know but one I've found to be generally true.... Also, in our experience of having estate agents through the door, most of them seem to be severely challenged in the height department and have REALLY SMALL HANDS! We should do a poll of the most irritating professions. I've got : Traffice wardens Estate agents Car salespeople Telesales people Any salespeople..... Sorry for the hijack and no offence to salespeople who drive a Zed, they must be alright
  21. Stick with the Stuttgart bias Ekona I drove a TTRS on track extensively on an Audi Experience day and although it was capable it was pretty much Audi 'business as usual' - it was more neutral than understeery but still dull. It sounded awesome though, that 5 pot sings and the exhaust pops nicely on downshifts. To be fair anything would feel a bit rubbish after an R8 V10, no understeer there
