  1. My list is similar to yours Mega, minus the ARB. I think it's useful to get the ball rolling here, it'd be beneficial to everyone if we can get a group buy arranged. Here's my shopping list; 1. Inner lower control arm (White line p/n W52991). 2. Inner upper control arm (White line p/n W52988). 3. Compression arm bushes (White line p/n W83389). 4. Shock absorber to control arm (White line p/n W52992). 5. ARB bushes (not sure if Whiteline have their version of these). I'm also looking into this as a Superpro package Out of respect for traders I have spoken to, I'd rather not post prices until we've talked to them about a GB. I have spoken to Jez at Horsham Developments and Z1 in the 'States so far..... Cheers all

  3. I seem to be jumping on your posts at the moment Mega, sorry! It's just that I'm also looking into refreshing my suspension bushes at the mo and it's nice to keep info in one place for future searchers I've contacted Jez at Horsham Developments for a quote but it'd be good to know what other options are out there to compare prices

  5. Good to know, thanks guys I just need to decide between Whiteline and Superpro's now.......
  6. Does anyone know if the bushes can be re-used? The reason I ask is that I'm a bit worried that I could fit the compression arm bushes and then find that the ball joint on the arm is shot too, and the new bushes would then be wasted.....
  7. I went out to check that the window was auto-dropping today and I was pleased that it was dropping then closing, albeit a bit too much at about 20-30mm. But after opening the door from inside the auto-drop stopped working again. Is this likely to be a failing motor?
  8. Thanks Mike, I think i've sussed it. I tried the reset procedure with the door closed and the window went up thankfully It makes sense I guess, so that the autodrop can be programmed but the guide I used wasn't clear on it. I'm off for a celebratory rum and coke or 5 now
  9. Okay, I'm doing the passenger window reset now and have a problem. I pressed the switch and wound the window down as instructed but now the window is stuck in the down position. Help! The car is stuck on the road with a window open!
  10. Same, we were both with the same bank so did an online transfer. I then called my insurance co. to arrange immediate cover.
  11. I might be up for a group buy too
  12. There is a fair difference in price. I'm looking at getting the following bushes ; 1. inner lower control arm 2. inner upper control arm 3. Compression (banana) arm 4. Shock absorber to lower control arm. Whitelines price for these is £235. These prices are from Whiteline's aussie website which showed sterling, but not including shipping or (presumably) tax. I haven't looked into a UK source yet. Superpro from a reputable dealer on here is about £250 but DOESN'T include the shock absorber to lower control arm bush. Shipping is about £10 and there won't be import duty to pay. The Energy bush set including inner and outer front lower control arm, upper control arm, and compression rod is $169.00 USD shipped, so duty and carrier charges to be added to this. I think this includes the shock absorber lower control arm bush (outer lower control arm bush??)but this is TBC. Hope this helps Mega, I thought It'd be useful to share my research
  13. It should be everything you need as it includes sub-frames bushes too....
  14. I just did a search for the Energy bushes and found this trader thread viewtopic.php?f=115&t=50146&hilit=b2+energy It seems that they are popular in the US Zed community too....excellent value if they're as good as you say ds2000
  15. Thanks Jez, I'll be in touch for a price if I go Whiteline In the meantime, I'd be interested to hear of peoples experiences with the Whitelines....
  16. Very nice car, think it had the Nismo bodybits....
  17. Im a spaz (and I go mean proper 'special') and I managed it. Its not a 10 min job but so long as you take your time you'll be alright. The vents were the trickiest bit. I got in a right mess with it and ended up disconnecting the battery to reset it (after I initally reset it the window would drop back to half way!!!!! ) I'm hoping to do the reset this weekend, the spaz comment has given me an extra dose of confidence - cheers Ricey Might even get around to doing the Bose speaker / MP3 modification if I pull my finger out....
  18. Mega, I'm also looking into the Whiteline / Superpro bushes. The Whiteline's cost a fair bit less and I'm keen to find out if they perform as well as the Superpro's..... You mention that you want to fit new shocks - you'd be best fitting a new bush where the suspension sits in the lower control arm too By the way Dblock, did i see somewhere that you've used Whitelines on your Zed?
  19. A mate of mine successfully claimed for 2 damaged wheels from the council, as said make sure the hole is big enough and take photo's with a ruler in it.
  20. As timFF said, once you have rugs and furniture in (even paintings and things hung on walls) acoustics shouldn't be too much of an issue - although obviously it isn't ideal for an audiophile. Engineered wood is actually very good as it tends to be more stable than solid wood which can warp if you aren't careful. If the floor below the new finish is reasonably solid (ie thick floorboards) and you use a good underlay it shouldn't be too noisy either. I like the idea of a man-cave compromise, or maybe a few goodies for your Zed . . . . good luck!
  21. Just to add to some of the slightly off topic threads (I'd save the Lambo for another time!) I was also disappointed with a track day I did at Prestwold Hall. It was only 4 laps and lasted less than 10 minutes. OK, for £75 you can't expect much but I wasn't even allowed to change gear - it was the gorgeous R8 open gate manual too I did a rally day at Manby Motorplex which I'd definitely recommend, it was only a Pug 306 with tweaks but it was much more fun than the Prestwold 'track day'. I did an Audi Experience day last year which was the nuts. I must have had about 3 hours track time during the day, driving the RS5, TTRS and R8 V10. I thought it was excellent value at 500 notes, but then I didn't pay for it
  22. I've been meaning to upgrade my front suspension for awhile and am about to bite the bullet I'm just trying to decide between Whiteline and Superpro bushes and wondered if anyone has anything bad to say about the Whiteline bushes? The prices are a fair bit less than Superpro and as it's unlikely I'll be tracking the car I doubt that I'd notice the difference as long as the quality is good. As a minimum I'll be doing the bush where the suspension sits on the lower transverse link but I'd like to do the inner upper & lower control arm bushes, compression arm and ARB bushes too. The Whiteline website shows this radius rod to chassis bush, is this the compression arm bush? http://www.whiteline.com.au/product_det ... ber=W83389
  23. I think they think the upgrades are worth it.
  24. Nice Zeds....but that GTI is awesome
