how much is that badboy then if you dont mind me asking ?

was alway dubious about neons on cars considering them a bit townie, however saw some very well done green neons on a black zed last night, was a stock zed as far as i could see but the green neons set it off really well
anyone had any experience with fitting them, also how legal are they? I've heard they are fine as long as you cant see the bulbs ?

Keys
in 350Z General
Can you not get the keys recoded then ? scrap the existing keys and get a brand new set? I know this would work for the remote locking but would you need a new ignition barrell ?

8,500 grand is a crap price for your car but the market is so poor thats about the best you are gonna get for it. Make sure you put it back to standard if you can. I was offered 10,000 grand for my 2004 GT on a part ex! I paid 14,000 grand for it, back in may!!! Needless to say i'll keep it and enjoy it.
I dunno, 8,500 grand is a damn good price for it !!! I'd take £8,500,000 any day

im looking to buy my first Zed and i am looking at the exact same spec as you but without the limitation of the colour factor. where are you searching for these cars as all i can find is ones over 10k. are you looking for a UK car?
hi welcome to the forum
your best bit is to message people and put in offers, for the kind of age/spec im after most people are looking for £12k but if you contact them its suprising how many people will accept £10k for a quick deal. I can put you in touch with the guy selling the GM I was considering if you like, he is in the navy and away at the mo but is looking to sell when he gets back (think i got his ad off piston heads) is a 54 plate GT with <30k on the clock, is due a service soon however but all the tyres are good apparently. I would have gone for it but im going to hold out for a black one Also found a dealer looking to shift a 06 black one with 20k(ish) iirc for £13k, again im tempted but a little over my tight budget. All the cars ive looked at are UK cars with full GT pack
happy hunting and if you find a black one i call shotgun! :)

Bloody bitch! God knows how anyone could find her attractive
I'd eat from her lady garden to get a free car.*
*Of my choice, I'm not touching her for a Corsa or summat.

my search for a zed is still ongoing Im on a tight budget and looking to spend no more than £10k for a GT 04/54 plate with <40k on the clock. I have managed to find one in orange and a couple in gunmetal grey which meet all these requirements (£9750 for the orange and £10,000 for the gun metal) The gun metal only has 27k on the clock which is a bonus..
problem is i wanted one in black and they seem few and far between, is this always the case or just the way it is at the moment ?
I'm very tempted to go with the gun metal as I'm getting impatient and want my zed!! lol

OK granted I didn't realise the price of the car and it's valuation...but you've still got to fork out over £1k to get the parts done.
I'd phone him up tomorow and offer him £8300 tell him it's January sales...that'll make him erupt
pmsl

thanks for all the feedback
phoned the guy to try and sort a deal and he was a complete tw*t about it, told me the RAC man was "talking out of his ar*e" and wouldnt budge at all on the price. Would have only taken a token movement of £300 or so to keep me interested and even though im sure this would have been cheap at £8800 its the principle of it all
so all in all very dissapointed and the search continues

just got my RAC check back from the zed ive been looking at and got told the following:
pads/discs need doing right away
exhaust needs changing
and the heatshield on the cat is coming away
chips on bonnet /bumper
nissan have quoted me £680 for the pads/discs £700 for the exhaust and couldnt quote on the cat without looking at it as it may be a welding job rather than a replacement
the guy was asking £8800 for it (53 plate with 37k on the clock) so Im going to phone i think and offer £8800 - £680 - £700 = £7420.
wondering about the cat though as from what im told it could be a simple weld job at a cheap price or up to £1000 if the cat needs fully replacing? does this sound right and wha do you guys think ?
cheers

What are you going for bud? I'm on the verge of buying one too, and I'm getting very excited!
53 plate 2004 black with GT pack and tan leather
alezan contrasts well with black
yup i thought so too by the way any idea if its possible to get scuffs on the seats repaired? the one im looking at has a zip scuff on it, only a small one but would be nice to repair

wow quick reply
thanks
o one last thing.. did they all have bluetooth handsfree as standard ?
i may have finally found my zed (assuming the RAC check goes ok) *dances*
-
is there any difference between a 53 plate zed and a 54 plate apart from (obviously) the age ?
-
if the pads havent been done then they should be at those miles, discs really depends on how it has been driven, the pads are known to disintergrate with age
so is that pads every 9k miles ? and at what cost roughly ?
-
Just a quick one.. spoke to the dealer who has delbt with the servicing of the zed im looking to buy and they have told me that they have just done a P1 on the car at 37k miles 2 months ago and they did the P3 the year before in july 2007
is this normal as i thought P3 services were done at the 36k mile mark ?
also they had no record of when the discs and pads were last done, is it likely that they will need doing soon ?
the zed is a 53plate 2004 black GT with 37k on the clock at £8800 so think im looking at a good deal
The RAC have said they can get in to do a full gazzilion point check tomorrow for me aswell which seems worthwhile at £230 (this includes a road test). Just want to be sure as i live 300miles away!
cheers

I have the phone number of the dealer where its had its complete service history for the last 3 years, will ring them tomorrow and ask those questions
thanks for all the input so far!
the guy has relisted it on ebay so I could see the auction out and hope for even more of a bargain..
-
Still hunting for a good deal, what do you guys make of this one ?
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&item=300279480718
Seems like a good deal to me, but then you guys have spotted holes in the last couple i thought were good so please do your worst! lol
The car is over 300miles away from me so bit of a mission, but the guy has offered me it for just short of £10k delivered to my door (cash on delivery). Always a bit dubious about buying a car ive not yet seen, but then for someone to offer to drive it the 300miles to me I would assume its genuine!?
have been told the alloys are immaculate and there are just a few small stone chips and a very small mark on one of the seats where a zip caught it.
Both rear tyres quite literally new
what do you think ? [/url]
Twin turbo conversion... insurance & ongoing costs ?
in 350Z General
Posted
Have seen a few twin turbo conversions showing up at seemingly reasonable money for a 4sec 0-60 car.. just wondering if anyone here has had experience driving / insuring one ? Also are there any extra maintenance costs involved and whats the fuel consumption like ?
