  1. Hi all,

What is difference between all these products? I use a hose to rinse my car (not a pressure washer) and I want something to create a good foam on my car between the rinse and washing stage.

I have good tap pressure outside but my water is hard. What would you recommend?

    Ta,

    Matt

  2. The new 350z-uk.com, for the visually impaired

    Best I read the FAQ's!

Good luck with the aircon... I've also heard you should blast it through a few times in the winter to 'clear it out' so to speak.

    Cheers,

    Matt

  3. Hi Ian,

The vinyl I have is not reflective but you can basically apply whatever you like so you could have luminous yellow if you like!

When I bought the wheels I run the vote for the red lip and you were right, I should have gone for the lip :p

I think the vinyl looks good though, Chris said it would last well too as long as you don't use a pressure washer on the wheels..

  4. Hi guys,

I thought I would be the guinea pig and try one of Adam’s suspension packages from Z1 Auto.

After speaking to Adam I decided to go for the Hotchkis springs and swaybars. I then realised that I would need some adjustment on the rear toe and camber so I gave CS a buzz and ordered the Eibach kit. Both suppliers were fantastic with quick delivery; I will certainly use them both in the future.

Once everything was fitted I took a drive to DMS (http://www.dmsracingltd.co.uk/index.php) to get my geometry set up correctly. The guys at DMS (Dixon, Ryan and Raymond) were fantastic and made us really welcome.

DMS are open on Saturdays and Sundays so very convenient for those who are busy during the week… These guys love their cars!

Once DMS had checked and adjusted my geometry I took the car for a blast in the afternoon sun and it felt fantastic. It was one of those crisp days when it feels like you have another 50 bhp!

The car rides really well on the Hotchkis set up. The steering is a touch sharper and the body roll is certainly reduced but it’s still comfortable and fine over speed bumps etc. I've only covered 20 miles so I sure it will get better as it settles down and I re learn the car.

This thread would be worthless without pics so attached is a few pictures of my Zed and friend’s type R, enjoy! A few pictures are from DMS hence the number plates being blanked.

  5. Tell me about it Chris, I bought my wheels in October and drove to Paris at Christmas.... I entered what seemed like a normal underground carpark until I realised it had those terrible brick tracks about 5ft wide. My Rota's have a few war wounds now!!! :scare:

    I've only had them 5 minutes :-(

  6. Hi Chaps,

It's 'our' first year’s anniversary today. 1 year of V6 bliss!

Last week a good friend of mine who is a member (CFOSTER) fitted some red lips to my rota's. I've added some before and after shots to my photobucket account so check them out...

The photos do the car no justice, the lip looks much better in the flesh... I guess I'm not cut out for photography!

And by the way, Chris (CFOSTER) can offer this service to members and fit them in if you're interested. He has lots of colours and can offer all kinds of vinyl so drop him a PM.

  7. You can't compare the two but I bought one of those DIY engine flushes for my first car (a Y reg Mk 2 cavalier) I think it was called Redex. Anyway the kit destroyed what was left of valve stem seals and the car burned more oil than petrol after that! At seventeen years old it was hilarious as every overtaking manoeuvre would involve smoking out my victim, cartoon style!

I doubt this is too helpful  but it brought back fond memories anyway

I haven’t touched an engine flush since. My Zed has covered 53k with FNSH and the oil looks good when I change it between services.

  8. Looks great Adrian, when you get the right wheels the Zed looks great in near standard form. I'm sure Beavis, Ian and Shire know where I'm coming from

How far did you lower the car?

Seeing this and Ian's thread I really want a front splitter now!!

    Cheers,

    Matt

  9. Hi all,

I have bought some (used) satin badges to replace the front and rear Nissan ‘burgers’ currently on my car. As the new ones are used the adhesive backing has been removed. Can anyone recommend a good adhesive to use that won’t damage the paint?

I thought about using some number plate sticky pads but the ones in Halfords are 5mm thick and the badge will look ridiculous… If I can find some thinner pads do you think they’re good for the job?

    Cheers,

    Matt

  10. Hi,

I have just ordered some springs and swaybars from Adam @ Z1. Despite the pound taking a worse dive than Cristiano Ronaldo I was still very happy with the price.

I would love some KW version 3's too but it's hard to justify the cost at the moment...

  11. Hey seanv1982,

Don't use Glyn Hopkins, they are very expensive. They quoted me over 300 pounds for a P2. I ended up getting my P2 at West London Nissan, it's only 30 mins round the A406 and I paid 199 (for a P2). They are also very helpful i.e. the mechanic will actually come out and talk to you about your car.
