  1. will do guys, thanks for the support, the other thing to bare in mind about turbo cars run at the red line for 20+ minutes is that they tend not to be too reliable, where as this car seems to take anything ive thrown at it so far
  2. i found one i quite like in maplins for £150, at the moment im looking at some data logging as well and funds are all but gone! still waiting on a sponsor in the background to help me out...
  3. aye but they like going in straight lines and have the same aero dynamics as my mum, still quite like them but on the bendy tracks im hoping to do better, we shall see
  4. Thanks, the reason for the 300bhp limit is the next class up is 500bhp Other cars in my class, Scoob STI type RA, Pulsar GTiR, Mk2 MR2, Scoob STI Bugeye, R34 GTR potentially, another 350z, Civic bread van shape with what the guy told me was a touring car engine in it So, quite heavy considering the rest of the class but still performs well, wont reach 300/300 without some engine work, but hoping for a lot better low to mid range punch and it does have a 4.08 final drive in it,
  5. thanks andlid, some tuning and a new exhaust is to go on as well, the idea is to try and make as much torq as possible without fettling with the engine and without tipping over 300bhp (class limit), fortunately the guys at abbey know what there doing
  6. So, quite a bit of modifications have occured, Door removal, not as hard as first though, taking the window out was more of a pain than removing the door Dirty.... Then fitted a tiny little greddy water bottle, i suspect the weight saved here will allow me to eat maybe one more pie pre event but to coin a phrase, every little helps Front Bumper and Mark from TLM Rear Door fitted with lexan window measured to fit as well Next week after a clean and windows fitted properly If only i could re-enter my calendar entry People with a keen eye may have also noticed the addition of a rear spoiler Passenger seat fitted as well, gluk Thanks to Mark and the Team at Abbey for all their help thus far. **REMOVED** for the doors and continued support Sarah, Gaz and Envy performance for putting up with my constant emails Total Nissan Magazine Rosie and Mark Motordyne Uprev Zenzero Shame the decals hadnt quite arrived and there will be more interesting news shortly.
  7. glad your going to abbey m8, from my own experiences with both of these companies definitely a good choice
  8. Nice to meet you this morning D'milla, hope you enjoyed the car on the way home, sounds like you did, really nice looking motor ta Steve
  9. I do understand how both systems work , but if you have a stock or tuned map in your STOCK ecu the utec is still trying to tweak around them , I am not trying to knock down Thor at all , just that I understand how the stock system works and cant understand how a tuned stock ECU will cause any more problems than stock tuned ecu. You are not overlaying any multi maps in the UPrev you are tuning the ECU live, no piggy backs or anything. Not even seen Nurrish,s car so I am not tuning the car at all. Nurrish I here to help give me a ring if you need to. excellent idea considering the cost of the potential issues.
  10. as per the call, be interested to see the difference
  11. id also vote to get rid of the standard tyres, especially in the wet there useless... toyo or falken for me when it was road use.
  12. good to meet you on saturday matt, hope you were pleased with the mod you did. as chris said im sure my350 will have that combination somewhere
  13. i did my race license in an RS, new one, in a family blue colour felt good, seats are excellent, didnt understeer but was trying to oversteer instead which in some peoples eyes might be a break through in science (although also possible in a 1983 pug 205gti) but for me it just felt wrong, steering and putting power through the same wheels in something that is trying to oversteer isnt brilliant, not my cup of tea I suspect in a straight line it would be close, but i dont like going in straight lines that much
  14. Also Envy have some decent exhausts for sale, depends on budget i guess
  15. i agree chris, 370 was hitting 130+ at the end of hanger into 50/60 no issues, gtr was hitting 140 at the bridge on hanger, didnt have time to look at speedo at end of straight
  16. having hooned multiple 370z's around silverstone i can say you definitely notice when the fade starts to set in, got a long pedal once going into abbey but it wasnt unexpected (happened in the GTR as well), could feel it at the end of hanger and it had no time to cool, nothing like they are suggesting in the article, brakes stood up to quite a bit of punishment
  17. aha! That was a stroke of luck, that silver 350z track car is owned by an elusive man called jim bridge (who ive been trying to get hold of), who should be racing in the nippon with me again this year, though he needs to remove some of the old sponsors from that Fairly stock left hooker with some huge AP brakes and a lot less weight, nismo suspension and arb's. Glad you had a good day, thats where it all started for me oh, and it doesnt need to be wet to induce oversteer, more controllable in the dry, tho the tyres arnt so keen
  18. flat head screw driver and a cloth worked for me
  19. awesome exhaust Colin, really like what youve done with the wrap aswell, suits the white nicely, now get back on track and update your signature
  20. heard htey make a decent improvement to chassis regidity however you would need to push on to feel it contact Envy Performance i think they stock those..
  21. brilliant, just brilliant
  22. i might have a second hand one shortly if you can hold off for 4 weeks or so.
