  2. WOW! The 'KING OF OILS'!! Ill be calling Tim soon for my shopping list!
  3. Cheers Envy, i was hoping one of you experts were going to reply! Can anyone suggest a particular product that is any good? Does any one know if any particular snow foams foam up well with using a 'pump gun' as i dont want to invest in a pressure washer!
  4. Howdy, Ive been reading a few posts lately about professional valeting companies and the stages involved in a full clean. All of them use a pre wash treatment to help shift the dirt before a sponge etc is used, ive heard a few of you guys talking about 'Snow foam' but can anyone reccomend something thats better? Ive just bought a Hozelock pump gun and would like a bit of advice as i dont want a pre wash product to take any wax protection off thats already on the paint work and i want one thats mild enough to use every wash. Cheers peeps
  5. I had an absolute knightmare with my azure, my kit had to be sprayed 3 times (at the cost of the bodyshop) in the end we had to get the paint from a different supplier and it matched. If the bodyshop had done spray outs first it all could have been avoided!
  6. As long as the weathers good ill pop down with the beast!
  7. Yeah i agree, any thing other than standard and they will find a reason! although i have a plate thats 3/4 the size of a normal one and ive been stopped and they said nothing about the plate!
  8. A mate of mine had a supra with the veilside kit, he had to stick his plate on like that and he got pulled for it. The police man said its illegal because the only person who would be able to read it would be the helicopter pilot, to which my mate said that the helicopter pilot would have to catch him first! which didnt go down too well!!
  9. Jeez! I never had any problems with my Blitz melting my original bumper and it pretty much touched on one side! although ive never tracked it Is it normal for an exhaust to produce that much heat??!!
  10. Im assuming its touching the bumper? Cant you just get it repositioned?
  11. STEW! why are you posting up pics of my wife??!! Er yeah i wish! My god! Soooooooo fit!!
  12. I think that might become it bit to complicated and may cause other issues. Erm, i mean just splice the positive wire from the aftermarket shift light in a wire that goes to the OEM one (if there is one!) so that the aftermarket one flashes when the OEM one does. So basically wiring a light on to a light if that makes sense Surely it wouldnt cause problems??............
  13. Thats pretty much it Alex, although mine is just a bulb in a tube with 2 wires coming out of it. I thought i could possibly hook it up the the signal wire of the OEM shift light on the car? that way it would give one almighty flash when to change rather than a crap blink! Do you think its possible?
  14. Peeps need your help, back in the day when i was really into Max Power and Fast and Furious etc i bought a MASSIVE 6'' rev counter and tube type shift light for my 106 Quicksilver (dont mock me too much! ) Any way, i was thinking the other day how crap the shift light is in the zed and it got me thinking..... i still have the shift light from the rev counter i bought. Does any one know where i could splice the signal wire from the zed shift light without taking the instruments out? that way i could use my big bright one as well! Cheers Ben
  15. 276 but with a few bits under the bonnet like plenum spacer and intake so i guess the torque would be different compared to standard any way
  16. Hi guys, Quick question for you, any one know the best shift point for the Zed? I know the shift light is set to around 6500rpm but if you were giving it some beans where would the optimum rpm be with regards to torque etc?
  17. As far as i know (but im no expert) its either water based paint or solvent thats used these days. Pretty much all body shops are meant to use water based paint as its better for the environment but the body shop i use still uses solvent as it dries quicker and is easier to use. Any way back to your question , as the paints use the same pigments they should be fine to use over each other although some would say that if the car was sprayed using water based paint then water based should be used to get a better colour match.
  18. Welcome to the Blitz club mate, are cars are now bros!
  19. Hi guys, Just spotted this on ebay : http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/NISSAN-350Z-STAIN ... 240%3A1318 Might be of interest for someone! Ben
  20. Howdy, Have a look at SRB Powers web site: http://www.srbpower.com/chargespeed/nissan/350z.php they list each bit of kit with prices, speak to Dan and he should be able to do you a good deal
  21. I think im going to hold back for a bit first as i still havnt received the claims form! My mechanic advised me to claim for 2 tyres as well just incase they have internal damage, but im sure they are ok, but i really dont fancy paying out for 2 new wheels AND tyres only to find out the council rejects my claim. If they accept the claim for wheels and tyres then brilliant, if they reject then i will just buy 2 new rims and reuse the tyres to save myself some money. As for the damage to the near side skirt it actually isnt that bad just a scratch and chipped paint which is all underneath so therefore not visible, so im not that bothered really, but i will get a quote for the damage to see if i can claim to have it repaired. It sounds like i have a good case so fingers crossed it all gets sorted quick. I just want to say a massive thank you to all you guys for your help and advice and ill keep you posted with the outcome
  22. Well just had the car up in the air on a ramp, after 30mins of head scratching and using scaffold planks it reversed up -just. The rear wheel has a small flat spot on the inside edge, but the inside front looks ok. All bushes, balljoints etc look to be as normal which is good news, looks like i just need 2 new wheels and tyres just to be safe, and a wheel alignment to check that my tracking isnt out. Weird thing is we checked the tyre pressures and i havnt lost any air even after a big impact and with the damaged lips as they are???? how strange!
  23. Right guys, what do you think the implications would be if i went ahead and bought 2 new wheels? I need to buy 2 anyway but obviously i want the council to pay for them, has any one had any experience with this kind of thing in the past? If i buy them and the claim is accepted wont they just refund me the money? Or do they accept the claim and then pay who ever direct to supply me with new wheels? Im soo confused!
  24. track rod ends, drop links, wheel bearings Gixxer are you suggesting that there may be some damage to said parts?
  25. Morning all, i should be getting the car on a ramp at lunch time so i can check to see exactly what the damage is to the wheels and skirt
