  1. Mine too but it has been laid up for a while... As with anything like this just give it a good clean / spray out and keep working it, it will come back to life. Once done make sure you use a lubricant that will last and not hinder it, I use ACF-50, used in aerospace as anti corrosion / lubricant... So, yes, mine will be getting done soon too... Good luck...
  2. Noticed one of mine was out last night so going to look into LED's... Always thought the sidelights were the let down of the package with the headlights being so damn brilliant white...
  3. Without them the car should be better in the wet, it'll slide more the wider it is... Same reason OM bushes are soft, it helps tame the car and improves ride...

    Battery size

Its an 054... There must be a way to post a photo from my mobile but cant see it... Anyway, 054 it is...
  5. Sometimes its easy to forget the difference, you change tyres, you live with them, the new slow becomes the new fast... Take it on track you will know the difference between a cheap tyre and a good sticky tyre, its in the consistancy. Get the tyre warm and at the right pressure and stay out longer, faster... Sorry to the drifters out there, I know nothing of your alien world, just talking from my own experiance... Have a look at the Avons, might get something there...

    Battery size

I just put one in last week, cant mind the number now but its the same as what came out of it and thats been in there since at least since 08 think I got the Z, its reall small and cost like fifty quid from Manbat in Rutherglen... I'll look up the number tonight...
  7. A week or 2 ago now (dont know why after forgetting it that long it suddenly popped into my mind to post now) Glasgow M74 Westbound near Hillington junction, circa 8:15ish, a blue Z hot on the tail of a white GT3... Even if you were looking you wouldnt have seen me, I was in stealth mode doing 50 in the big Jixa Racing Transit...
  8. Apologies, phone not talking to computer so you'll have to use your imagination... The door handle itself is pinned to the door mechanism and there is a spring on the pin so the handle returns to the closed position when released. For some reason Nissan decided to over engineer it and have the door mechanism return work off of a totally different spring.... And... To really complicate things they made the door mechanism release spring circular instead of linear (which is how I fixed it on a Sunday with limited spares to hand) which was impossible to reattach, I probably could have ground off the end of the pin, unpacked it, reatached the spring somewhere else and put a spot of weld on the end of the pin but it was easier to employ a small spring and 2 cable ties... If anyone has the issue of the door lock jaming look at this avenue first... Well, not quite coz you'll have to get the door open first (key in lock wont work coz its jammed down), and the only way is to break into it... Cant tell that bit on an open forum... And before you ask, I wouldnt have known how if I never locked the keys to the Mitsubishi in it years ago, had to call the police to ask who they use and they sent a reformed car theif who "showed" me how to steal my car in seconds, no damage...Anyway, end of saga... Cheers....
  9. Cheers... I used the Nissan workshop manual pdf to work out how it all came apart, simple enough, serious, even the glass bit going back in, easy peasy... Problem with lock solved... Pix to follow... Soaked but now sitting in car with heater on with ooh so smug grin as I type...
  10. Ok, so tottally f'd off with this one, thank you Nissan... I posted a couple of years ago about an intermittant issue along the lines of sometimes when you lock the car the lock jams. Its like the door handle actuator on the lock was not coming out fully... I remember tales of going to Nissan as no other solution and costing many hundreds... Today I know the issue... And its now worse... Drat... The door handle itself has 2 springs in it... 1 to return the handle itself, quite basic and robust. The other to return the opening rod... A circular spring with one tab held by a metal clip... Ah yes, and the other end held by a bit of plastic... It was that that was causing the problem... It had failed and was not letting the spring do its job of returning the rod properly as it was giving way and hence the lock jambed... On discovering this it broke off completley leaving me with a totally kfd door handle... Anyone had any dealings with these? Any help / info appreciated... Cheers...
  11. Ahhh... Ok... Will ask the leads given what my options are then... Cheers...
  12. Hi there, sorry, I posted on the Xnavi / X-Trail thread but dont know if anyone even seen it... My screen has stopped coming on when the cubby is opened... Any suggestions ? Cheers...
  13. Erm, I have an X-Trail unit, the 2 plugs fit into it (and the small one (GPS?))... But for some reason, know how the tv screen usually comes on when the cubby is opened, well it dont... Its not the sat nav thats duff either coz it dont do it with the original JDM now either... Any sugggestions? Before I break it... Cheers...
  14. Cheers guys, J, thanks for that, will do...
  15. Thats my worry... Methinks a trip to a few refurb shops are in order... Any referrals, I'm in Central Scotland but can travel... Cheers... I like the wheels, its just I know they will be abused hence I dont want to have to worry about them failing. The thought of someone stripping out a bolt and just locktighting it in place to look good dont help the karma when you'r trying to lean on it... Ahm going to look at wheels ah think...
  16. Hi there, what is the view on splitting split rims? Do they go back as good? I'm not going to do it myself, I'm on the lookout for a place I can go to in the near future (after brakes part II), just, I dont know, worried they're not up to the punnishment afterwords... Am I just worrying over nothing ? They were chromed but corrosion peeled it, I had cleaned them and painted them before to tidy them up but again the corrosion won. This time I'm going to have it done properly and get them chromed again, just need the corrosion killed... Am I as well with new wheels? Cheers...
  17. Its not just mine then... The car looks tat when there like that (mine look just like oderuyter's, cept on a black car it looks even worse) ... Its just another thing on the long list of things to do (said with a smile as at least I'v started now)...

    Avons ZZ3 & ZV5

Have advocated ZZ3 for years on road and track, its a good tyre... Wont say they wear well, thats the trade off...
  19. Isnt the JDM different from th UK cars in the way the electronic package works? As in something about it being passive when you switch off the VDC, its off untill you touch the brakes then it becomes active, come off the brakes and its away in the background again... Or is my memory catching up with my age?
  20. Thats the very one... Ah cant wait to get the Z back on the road, Its a tease just now, it never bothered me while there were other things to come in front of it but now its almost all together the anxiety level has gone up and seein a well sorted Z is like "ha, me again soon"... Need brake discs all round, looking for those just now... Anyway, nice car... See you out there...
  21. This morning, a white 370 going past Stonelaw school (I was in the big blue van coming the other way that gave you the thumbs up)... And forgot to post this one, Monday evening round quarter to 5 just going on to the new M74 eastbound, the most outstanding colour of orange 350 you have ever seen, not a sunset but a kind of... mustard orange if that makes sense... What a noise as the taps were opened on the way past... Sorry to you, I was (again) in the big blue van with the Jixa Racing graphics that held you up... Oooops...
  22. An inside job, eh... Says so on the topic header... Warehouse fire, started by Clark Motorsport / Zman Alex... LOL... Sorry... First time on for ages, glad to hear no one was hurt in the incident...
  23. Thats it... Well, thats not it as in the car but yes thats the colour... And see, its almost black... Phew... No need to take snaps now...
  24. flexib, that would be just too easy...
